Why The Hell Is The Daily Show Pubbing Fucking American Idol?

What a waste of interview time to have a freaking contestant on the show last night. Surely there was a tom Friedman or Fareed Zacharia they could have been publicizing.

I know TDS is a fake news show. However it usually has great guests. I was totally disappointed last night. On top of the unbelievable pointlessness of that stupid fucking show, the interviewee sucked. Stupid!

Come on Jon! You know the score! Why contribute to the American hypnosis? It is not like you!

As a rock-oriented guy, I knew he didn't have a chance against someone doing country, R&B or pop. Jon could have just as easily invited the first-place winner, after all.

every minute of every day? I find that some balance helps and certainly makes my life more enjoyable. While I never voted for any of them and really didn't care who 'won' - I did enjoy tuning in to see how good or badly they performed.

8. My Opinion Is Broader Than That. Reality TV Contributes

every day to the dumbing down of America. It worries me how many posts I see here about the show. IMO, Being invested in such shows is no better than being a follower of the Michael Jackson trial.

Please people, invest your free time in making a difference.

I just really do not get the obsession with reality TV.

If we are the modern equivalent of the Ancient Romans, Reality TV is the Colloseum. That was just entertainment as well. But if you look at the history it was used to control the masses and keep them docile.

I see no real difference other than we have outlawed the killing...

like it, and I can't for the life of me figure out why. I guess I'm like you and see how much it is dumbing down our society.

Of course, like some in this thread have mentioned, I have often been told I need to lighten up... :shrug: So I watch Adam Sandler movies, or stuff like that.

I also was a bit puzzled/pissed that TDS had an American Idol contestant on, but when I heard that the guy was a runner up, and Jon felt he should have won... I figured there was some sort of reason.

It's a COMEDY show, not 60 Minutes.

Having said that, Bo was painful to watch. Not as funny as he thought he was.

Because I'd rather watch a show about castaways on a tropical island. Who are in peril from polar bears & giant invisible monsters. And have many dark secrets & a fascination with certain numbers. Who include a Hobbit, Mercutio & a studly vet of the Iraqi Republican Guard.

Yeah, I'm a fan of that show too. And also the one about the four suburban women (including Lois Lane) who have complicated love lives, unbearably interesting family lives, and are remarkably casual about the fact that three or four people on their block have died of unnatural causes in the past nine months or so.
