Question for New Englanders: Do you really suffer an onslaught
of New Yorkers during the fall when the leaves turn?

I was watching this Family Guy episode, and it was pretty damn funny.

The New Yorkers were treated like Godzilla was coming :D

1. The colors are beautiful in upstate New York too
but I do usually take drives in Vermont and the Berkshires in the fall... or try to anyway.

3. They call the "leaf peepers"
I guess the old fogies want to be called something that sounds perverted and deviant.

They come from all over the country though, not just New York.

5. Yes.
We also get those flat-landers out of Massachusetts like Matcom and Will Pitt coming up here peeping at our leaves. :)

6. I don't remember that.
But I lived in Worcester in central MA which is not a tourist destination and is far from the NY border. So is RI, now that I think of it.

BTW, there is an exterminator near Providence that has a big, blue bug on it. It's on 146.

8. I believe the big blue bug is on 95 actually.
He gets dressed up for the holidays and is even a landmark for the traffic reports. Gotta love the bug. :-)

9. That's right
When I fly to MA from OH I usually fly to TF Green and drive to Worcester on I-95 then 146. I confused the two roads.

13. No worries - just wanted folks to know you're not a nut
talking about a big blue bug on the side of the highway. Of course, now they think RIer's are nuts, but, well, they (used to be "we") are. ;-)

7. HELL, I'm assaulted every weekend...............
A lot of them have their vacation or second homes here. Hah, there are 4 or 5 just in my neighborhood.
The upside is that they are here because I live in a beautiful area.

10. In the Berkshires it starts in the summer
They stay or still visit through the fall.
From the town of Otis westward to Stockbridge, this area has become many New Yorker's playground. I'd guess that over half the campsites, cottages, and homes around Otis Resevoir are now owned by New Yorkers.
