Help with SSDI....Anyone?
I posted this in the mental health forums, but haven't had much luck with getting responses there.

I'm applying for SSDI for my ADHD/ODD/Aspie son. I want to print the forms from the website and get them all filled out and turned in at once, if possible. I can't find anything that says "These are the forms you need" to apply for this. I found several forms that apply to the issue, but don't know if I need them all, or if there are some that didn't come up in my search.

Does anyone here know what forms I need?

2. You have to call your local office, and make an appointment.
At this appointment, you will be given the forms. I know this because I went to my local office to pick up an application, and, after waiting one-half hour for my number to be called, was told that they don't just 'give out' forms. You have to make an appointment. I was pretty peeved about that.

A question, though. Are you applying for SSDI, or SSI? How old is your son? Is he under 18? Because you can't get SSDI unless you have a work history. SSI is for people with disabilities who have little or no work history.

4. The forms are online
I'd like to get them all filled out without spending a day at their office.

My son is eleven...So, I guess I'm looking for SSI. I am so confused!

3. I cannot answer your questions, but I can kick the thread.
I know what a hassle SSDI is. My husband is just starting the process. His Muscular Dystrophy is getting worse & it is getting harder & harder for him to work.
