1. Pink Martini?
Je ne veux pas travailler
Je ne veux pas dejeuner
Je veux seulement oblier
Et puis je fume

Mad crush for China Forbes! :loveya:

you and me both.

You know where you can run into those people? Well, Thomas anyway. That swank Chinese joint down across the street from Paddy's by the light rail. I've seen him twice there. His label office is on that block.

Good eggs, the lot of them.

6. It's easy to run into Thomas
Just be a member of the church that his father pastors. Thomas comes in every four or six weeks to play piano for the Sunday morning service.

I do need to keep my peepers peeled for China. She's a hot tamale.

19. Oh yeah
Actually, my earlier post was a subtle and clumsy attempt to invite you by Peace Church of the Brethren some Sunday morning for the service at 11. That is, provided you don't have a church home or are interested in checking around.

I must respectfully decline, but perhaps we will have another occasion to meet up.

I hope to stake out the old reliable spot down by Ms. Waters' reviewing stand.

Let's kick each other as the day draws closer.

I'll be marching in my resplendent rainbow vest with the contingent from Peace Church. I've given myself a reminder to IM you on Friday, the 17th and we can finalize plans.

30. Flavored martini's are the work of the devil...
At our first Roosevelt Day Dinner, I decided to deliver a toast to America's greatest president, and I thought it only appropriate that I do it with a martini in hand. So I went to the bar to get one...

Bartender: What flavor would you like it?
Me: I'd like it MARTINI FLAVORED!
Bartedner: Huh?

And as if I haven't done enough to start a flame war, here is the only acceptable method for making a martini.

1. Place ice in cocktail shaker
2. Drizzle a small amount of vermouth over the ice
3. Pour out any excess vermouth
4. Pour in gin (any brand above the fourth shelf at your local liquor store will do)
5. Shake. Yes I said SHAKE!. Shake It, You Magnificent Bastard!!
6. Pour into a martini glass that costs more than your textbooks for freshman year of college.
7. Three olives -- not one, not two.
8. Enjoy.
9. Repeat.

31. Seconded
You've hit the nail right on the head - except on the gin brand. Beefeater is generally reckoned as a premium brand, but I think that it tastes rather like nail-varnish remover.

I tend to keep Tanquery, Bombay Saphire and Plymouth in stock personally.

Just as long as they're all made properly. All getting mildly sloshed on martini sound like a splendid evening to me.
