Damn dog is going to live!
I posted this morning about my dog. She was hit by a car yesterday and could not stand on her own, go to the bathroom or drink. I took her to the vet thinking that I would have to put her down. Vet took her in under observation. He called me at 11 tonight (I know, rather late for a vet) and told me that she was badly bruised but there was no reason that she couldn't come home in the morning. He did a simple iv line just to get fluids and she urinated. Hip is bruised and she will have to wear diapers for a few more days since she might not want to stand very much but otherwise she will be fine. He actually said that part of her problem was that she was just a lazy dog (he knows her pretty damn well).
And that dog had my kid crying all day long! We thought she was a goner.
Thanks to everyone who posted kind thoughts.

latch to the door on a wrought iron bird cage. Unbelievable! Freaked me out! She killed him before I could say squat! Glad your dog is going to be ok. I am in mourning.

My Immy always says "hello, bird" from under his blanket when I stagger into the kitchen in the morning.

I lost a hamster last week, and even that was rough. The little furry/feathered guys can really get to you.

26. He's a great vet.
Loves animals, hates people. And a total vegan. Very cheap too. His house is right behind the hospital and clinic. And if he thinks the pet needs extra assistance or attention, he will board them in his home that night, just so he can get up w/ them.

She's pretty dumb. She can't figure much out for herself. I think that she is so lazy because she just gives up. And she likes to be babied all the time.

but the diapers all day long(in case of accidents because she might not want to support her weight) will not be fun. Then again, the dog already wears pull-ups at night partially because she has bladder problems and partially because she is lazy.

47. beagle mix.
she wears pullups at night because she is having a harder time holding her bladder and she's lazy-she sleeps right through it.
While her hip is bruised and she doesn't want to put pressure on it she will also need diapers to catch any messes she might make. Plus, as it heals up she will want to go outside but as slow as she might walk for awhile she might still need them until we make it out the door.

As to the shrimp and crab-I bet he loves that! years ago, I had a dog who had a tumor on his spinal cord. Instead of having him put down at the vets office we got the pills, crushed them and mixed them in a bowl of ice cream. He went happy, at least.
At least your cat will be happy at the end.
