I was finishing a job application online around 8.30 last night when the DSL went kaput. Called tech support and got someone who almost certainly was speaking to me in Calcutta or New Delhi, and they told me there was a problem on my line. Not good news, as that would probably cost money to fix. Fortunately, they fixed the problem, and I've got service again, w00t!
I don't know what I'd do without the Internets. Where would I get my porn, I mean, news? :P

4. Once our cable line went out |

for us that means no TV, no internet, and no phone. We literally stood there for like 20 minutes trying to figure out what the hell to do with ourselves.
I'm not the nature-girl I think I am :)

5. None of us would last five minutes in 1905. |

We'd all be standing around like slack-jawed yokels while the local gentry threw rotten fruit at us. :P

6. Oh my gosh! Did you get the shakes? |
|
I was without internet for about an hour today, and that was irritating enough. I did clean the kitchen and one bathroom and read a few chapters in my book.
(And of course, that leads me to the thought that I should not be sitting here right now because I have 14 people coming to my house tonight for a wine tasting, and I have to finishing straightening up and vacumming, and I have to take a shower, and run up to the store for cheese and crackers.)

Seriously, though, I took the Internet-less opportunity to play Civ 3, which I haven't played in a loooooooonnnnnnngggggg time. I love that game. :D
Wine-tasting, eh? Can I come over? :D
