How does "The Ring" (2002) rate as a horror film?

I've watched it three times, trying to figure out what the fuss was about.

It's just a predictable, disconnected, special effects, creepy-little-kid piece of crap.

Many people liked Ringu, the Japanese version better.

I think they were both terrible though. For a good horror movie, I'd suggest checking out 28 Days Later or any of the Ginger Snaps movies.

Ginger Snaps movies. The first two Ginger movies were pretty sweet though and the very first one was far superior.

Ever watch any Fulci films? Really cheesy, really fun though, I'd recommend Demonia or any of the first 3 Zombie movies.

Plus, you can't go wrong with Saw.

16. It was decent, but there was lots of room for improvement

My biggest complaint was the creepy video. Evil spirits, as far as I know, don't use computers...so why did the video have CGI? Would have made it a lot creepier if they had avoided the CGI.
