I hate it when this happens
Civil defense sirens going off, severe thunderstorm, tornado watch.

Dogs are staying close, cats hiding somewhere.

Ack!

4. Thank you......
I think we're down to just heavy rain now. Hail went through and I can't check out the damage on the garden until it subsides.

I found out it was a tornado warning rather than a watch, but it's over with now.

8. I have a friend who moved back to CO in Feb. after living in TN
for 18 months. She was pretty glad to leave to say the least! She lives in a small town, Brush, which is an hour and a half from Denver, I think. Do you know anything about Brush? I'm thinking about taking my kids out to visit. She and her husband are planning to move to New Zealand.

9. I don't know a lot about Brush
Edited on Fri Jun-03-05 10:21 PM by GardeningGal
I know it's a rural town in NE Colorado. I knew a couple years ago from Brush and they liked it. I have never been there, but found this website you might be interested in.

I wonder how they're doing after this storm.

Edited to add the link.

5. NUKE!! NUKE!!
that's what I used to yell during thunderstorms. Quick - to the bomb shelter! I handle them much better now that my mom is not around to freak me out.
I practice tornado drills with my dogs. I grab a handful of dog biscuits and they follow me to the basement.

7. Good you've got them trained!
This doesn't happen much in the part of Denver that I live in, but when it does it's pretty scary.

If I had a basement I'd do the same thing!
