Need advice and recommendation for Auto body work in San Diego -
The Hubby and Kidlet got in a Vehicle Ouchie early this afternoon when I was work - they're okay (a bit sore) but the van is missing a front end.
Since we're getting screwed by the towing company because the cops called them at the scene of the accident (I couldn't track down the damaged van until after they closed shop for the week at around 4pm so we can't pick it up until Monday at the earliest - "ca-ching!") -I'm looking around for advice on a reasonable body shop in the Mission Valley/College area (the towing lot is off Mission Gorge Road)that will be willing to pick up and do an honest estimate.

Thanks for any help.

Oh, and weirdness of weirdnesses - the only person who even looked at the insurance we carried was the cop at the accident who just checked to see if everyone carried insurance, and other than calling the tow truck to clear Texas street, he never gave my husband a card or had him sign anything - so I'm thinking the police didn't make a report. The other two parties in the accident never asked hubby for any insurance info. As far as I can tell, they didn't even
Hubby has been too shaken up to call the insurance company and make a report yet. I rented a replacement vehicle with my employer's discount, so that's not a big issue - and the van, though sturdy and until now, serving us well, is verging on Blue Book "piece of merde" status, having been in a pretty nasty accident two years ago. If totaled, it's worth, oh - maybe $1500? The deductible will cost us more than the van is worth.

So do we report this? Or do we just pay what we need to pay, and look for another vehicle if it's too expensive to fix it.

I'm just trying to keep us from getting screwed any more than what we are going to be, just by virtue of being in an accident.

Haele
(and a very sore Lazarus)
