The way the team conducts itself is a big reflection of the manager. Torre is too placid. With the older teams, he was the perfect manager, but no longer.
He doesn't know how to manage pitchers. He doesn't know when to exploit a team's weakness (see his refusal to bunt against an injured Schilling in the ALCS). He doesn't know how to create the strongest possible line-up (see his asinine placement of Womack hitting in the two spot and having Bernie in CF despite Bernie's arm being shot to hell and costing the Yankees dearly every time he's in the field).
I love him, but it's time for him to go.

I may love living in MD and be married to an eastern Appalachia Tennessee hillbilly (redneck by marriage), but California will always be my home.
