Poll question: Love and Rockets vs. Bauhaus vs. Bay City Rollers
Edited on Fri Jun-03-05 11:44 PM by aquaman
I have always been a Love and Rockets fan and listen to them more than I do Bauhaus. However, when I feel a Little freaky, the Bay City Rollers send me flying. :)

5. But there was a psy-ops campaign...
We were young girls and didn't know any better...and the Bay City Rollers had album cover photos of them in verrryyy tight pants, with rolled up socks or something stuffed in there...

Really stupid to think about now(shudders). Anyway, I really liked that song "S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night"!

9. My wife's favorite song!
A punk band I played in ages ago did a turbo-charged version; I wish I still had the tape of that..

15. I used to be a drummer in a "thrash blues band."
Edited on Sat Jun-04-05 12:42 AM by aquaman
We covered:
Lynyrd Skynyrd: Free bird :)
Cream: Sunshine of Your love
Nancy Sinatra: These Boots Were Made for Walking
Prince: When Doves Cry
to name a few, it's fun to make other band's songs your own.

17. Is this serious?
The answer is Bauhaus. Bela Lugosi's Dead, In The Flat Field, God In An Alcove, Third Uncle, Party Of The First Part....

Bauhaus, no question. Love And Rockets was just wanna be Bauhaus. And the Bay City Rollers? Even I'm not that much of a girl.

21. I wondered how long it would take.....
No, I am not Peter Murphy. Yes, I detest him. Yes, I would drink his sweat anyway. One of those weird love/hate relationships.
I was this weird geeky goth kid. Siuoxsie invented Goth and Peter Murphy perfected it.

But Love and Rockets? Are you kidding me?

Khash.

22. LOL. ;)
From one Siouxsie fan to another; I'll say that maybe cheap sentiment is clouding my judgment tonight. There was an AIDS crisis back then (not to be a huge downer here) and a few old friends - long gone - and I liked "Love and Rockets".

The next time I have an opportunity to crank up some Bauhaus - I'll listen with 'new'/old ears. :hi: :D

23. Yeah Peter Murphy really pissed me off
that whole "I wanna die of AIDS in Paris" thing was way too much for me. I watched too many friends die and his comment was not funny or cool.
However, Siouxsie.... I just downloaded "Cities In Dust" to my ipod. That girl seriously rocks. "Poppy Daze" gets me really angry. "Ornaments of Gold" is both the most romantic and the most cynical song ever.

And only Siuoxsie can do Iggy Pop better than he does himself....

But I have "Israel" and "Arabian Nights" on constant replay so I'm not the most impartial person......

Khash.

26. I'm not a fan of doomy rock
But Peter Murphy had a great voice--live recordings of some of Bauhaus' tunes are pretty impressive for that reason.
