Toyota radio anti-theft code - HELP!
Edited on Sat Jun-04-05 08:43 AM by Lefta Dissenter
ok, so my daughter cracked up her '94 Camry a few weeks ago (yes, I whined about it here, of course). The repairs have been done, to the tune of $4,800. HOWEVER, because the battery was disconnected in order to do the airbag & sensor replacement, the damned radio's security deal has kicked in, and the radio won't turn on. Because we bought the car used and didn't know about this 'feature,' we don't have a code for turning off the anti-theft settings! @&%#&@%&*()#^&

The dealer wants $50.00 to shut it off. Does anyone know the magic code or other method for disabling the 'radio disabler?' Right now, it says "sec" in the display and the radio will not turn on.

I would REALLY appreciate help with this!

Thank you! :yourock:

2. that's who wants
the $50.00 - I just got off the phone with their service dept. (that's what I really meant when I said 'local shop,' - guess I'll go edit my post for clarity...) :hi:

3. I had a similar problem with a pontiac radio
The radio/tape player locked. The tape was stuck inside and had sentimental value. MY grandfathers voice was on this tape! But the dealership was helpful. Just try another dealership. Even if you spend a few bucks for a long distance call, as long as it's less than the $50.
