I'm just curious. Having got the flu shot this past winter, I found it didn't do me a damn bit of good. I got the flu or some virus 3 times, which landed me in the hospital once. I'm curious about others experiences...

I'm now 62, haven't gotten a flu shot since the first one, and haven't had the flu either.
I think it's advisable for anyone who has a cronic condition of any kind to get a preventative shot, but the healthy people...I think it's just another scam to get a few more $$$.

since 1972 and I've haven't had the flu since my last shot. i'm diabetic and my doctor keeps trying to talk me into it but I refuse.

As a former lab rat, I don't think they do any good, at least wouldn't for me. It's all guesswork in a white lab coat. I don't get sick either.

and I didnt't get the flu. I never get flu shots.
I try to keep my immune system healthy and prefer to use alternative therapies like Oscillo if I start to come down with the flu. :-)

I got flu after going through puberty only once, when I was a 22 year old college senior. I took anti virals on the second day of my illness. I was back in class on the fourth day of my illness. I was running again on the ninth day. It was a rather nasty illness, especially the first 48 hours, but I survivedd it alright.

and never had the flu (knock on wood) I guess if you are elderly or immuno-suppressed it might be worth it just in case, but when you are getting a flu shot you are also getting a small dose of the flu so in reality you are giving your healthy body a small dose of sickness. It's just not something I believe in
