Look at my age poll... going over 800 votes right now.

Plus it is of course not scientifically random by any means but I am not consciously adding any bias into the question as to who responds.


For example, the percentages in my age poll have remained eeriely steady since like 100 votes. I think around 200 votes it was 55% were 40 or older.... Then around 600 votes it was 60% 40 or older now it is like 57%....

9. okay I changed the poll question for clarity and simplification....

It was "What's your gender?"
And in addition to male and female in both age groups I had trangender born male and transgender born female. I simplified this by changing question to "What's your sex?" and changing it to "born male" and "born female."

My wife just said "but what about hermaphrodites? True, but if I put this as a option people will be tempted to select that when they really aren't just to overtly invalidate the poll. So if you are a hermaphrodite, my apologies (about the poll, not about your identity)... if you don't mind, post a response.

IMHO

gender is a psycho-culturally defined term and hence can really have an unlimited number of selections....

sex is biological with three categories... male, female and hermaphrodite.... see post #9 for my logic for not including hermaphrodite.

of both sexes... little known fact... that is why it is important to differentiate between those under 40 and those older.

Seriously, I guess I just wanted to make some distinction between age.... considering the average age according to my other poll is around
40-45, I used 40 as the cut off.

The margin between age groups is a wider for women than men. It fits the stereotype that younger women are less politically active. Is that assumption true? If so or not, why?
