IMO it's time to load the writers in a bus and send it over a cliff.

3. I haven't watch SNL for years! |
|
Once in a while, I'l watch a few minutes of their opening. They've had some pretty good imitators of Tweety, Shrub, DeLay etc. But after the intro, I tune to something else!

4. If Chris Walken is on, I watch |

But the last time he was the host, the show sucked so bad, even The Continental couldn't rescue it.
Writers, actors - ditch them all and start all over.

and don't dare tell me Chevy Chase falling off the stage or Samurai Valet Parking was any better than some of the shit on now.
Or Coneheads, or Bees...
Or Larry the Lobster, or Lying Liars...
The plan always was that you suffered through 75 minutes of bad comedy, mediocre music, and commercials for 10-15 minutes of brilliance. And that only once a month or so.
It's only missing the rare moments of brilliance now.

Al Gore one was damn funny and pretty soothing when you thought about the horror that was taking over the country and Gore was up there trying to lighten things up just a wee bit.

10. They occasionally have moments of brilliance, still... |
|
Usually a gem that is simply impossible to fuck up.
About the only one I can think of off the top of my head is Will Forte's Zell Miller impression. Damn, I loved that. Couldn't stop laughing at SNL after the RNC last year...
