New pictures of fleaberts litter of kittens! ((LOTS of pix!))
Edited on Sat Jun-04-05 11:56 PM by fleabert
and one of the momma, who hates me. :-)

all four babies, now about 6 weeks old, just sprouted little fangs yesterday! they still have colds and their eyes get really gunky. I clean them 2-3 times a day, any suggestions from the kitty brigade for this problem?

me with the white male I call 'cotten', and the black one, no idea on sex and it has an adoptive mom who will name it. so playful now! Cotten has already started to taste mommas soft food in her dish, on his own volition!

flea with the white female I call 'squeak', flea does not know what to make of these kittens! they are starting to follow her around and she won't let them get near her, but as soon as they are turned around, she sniffs the heck out of them!

me and black kitty. I can only assume that it is getting interested in grooming now! cute paws!

momma hates me. that's okay though, she eats well and is starting to use the litter box well. and she takes good care of the babies, except for not cleaning their eyes. she has found a hiding spot behind some old built in drawers in the basement, apparently someone dropped a jar back there! who knew? :-)

Little Squeak, the runt for sure, wants me to pick her up again, but it's time for me to leave them so momma will nurse and sleep. :-( poor baby!

16. momma and brood are already set up for vac's and neuters!
and a second round of deworming for the kittens should happen this week. I have a 100% home for the black one, and a 50/50 home for the calico, and the rescue group (no-kill) wants to take and place Cotton and Squeak. Momma will probably have to go back to her feral colony, she is not taking well to socialization, and she is needed as a mouser. I will try to get her warmed up to people, but she is like a possum!

They are too much. I should have taken a pic of the one that pooped all over his leg (cotton) and I had to clean it off! that would have brought the cuteness factor down a bit.

I can't decide between cotten and cotton, He looks and feels like a cotton ball, but I want it to be a name, so I thought the 'e' made it a bit different. I think I used both spellings in this thread, LOL.

(picky is fine, I am one to do that at times as well) :hi:

41. So cute! As for the eyes, they likely have upper respiratory infection -
very very common in almost all kittens. The vet can treat it. My cats had it as babies too, but it cleared up nicely with antibiotics. Good luck with these adorable babies!

45. thanks for the advice!
I have been advised to just wipe them down twice a day at least and it should clear up on it's own. one of them has stopped, but another has gotten worse. the calico (who was not that bad a week ago) was so bad today that the eyes were sealed completely shut, and when I started wiping them off, gunk just flowed out. It was so gross. poor baby. I will get them to a vet soon. thanks!

46. I trapped her twice, once to get her in my house, and the second time
to move her to the basement. she was not happy.

she has never had human contact I don't think. she's young and likely was born where I found her litter. before the second trapping, she would let me touch her foot while she was nursing. and she hissed every few minutes. I think she hates all humans, which will be a good thing if she goes back to the feral colony after getting fixed. some humans should not be trusted.

I don't think I could handle another cat, otherwise I might consider finding a way to get the little furball out here to Mass. :).

My two are still pretty kitten like and make enough noise playing cat-tag at midnight to wake the dead, add one more to the mix and I'd never get any sleep :).

51. squeak is the least likely to be doing that stuff. she's a loner compared
to the other kittens. she sits alone and just watches them mostly. but she loves to be petted, her motor gets going louder than the others, even though she's the smallest. Here she is, just taking it all in...

*I'd be remiss if I didn't encourage you to check out a local shelter before shipping a kitten...but if you really fall in love, then it was meant to be and I'd be happy to see her with you

I am not sure what the rescue group requires that is providing the spay/neuter/shots. they get to decide where they go, except for the black one, she had a home the day I found them. they need an indoor home only, I know that is one thing they screen for.
