My vets sign concerning dogs and cats

He's a great guy. The sign says "Dogs have owners, Cats have staff".

I've never seen it put better.

My cats have always acted more like ... um, due to a recent unhappy occurrence brought up here on DU, I won't finish that thought.

Mind you, I loved my cats, but they were hardly the type that that sign would imply.

Cats were worshipped as gods.
They never forgot it. :-)
