A butterfly flew into my car today- is that a good omen?
Edited on Sun Jun-05-05 08:04 PM by Beware the Beast Man
Today Mrs. B and I were driving when we had to slow down because of an accident up the road. Anyway, I saw a butterfly flying around the wheel of the tractor trailer next to us. Lo and behold, he divebombed right inside of our car, hung out on the rear window for a while until I coaxed him back outside. Mrs. B thinks it's a good omen. What do you think?

1. Yes, it is even better if they land on you.

3. And it did.
It flew straight for me until it fluttered to the back.
I like it when cool stuff happens. :)

2. Well, it's definately better
than if it hit your grill - at least for the butterfly, that is.

4. I think that in eastern cultures
the butterfly is a symbol of spiritual maturity. But don't quote me on that.

10. haha
I read something about the butterfly in a book on eastern philosophy by Ram Das called "Be Here Now." He used the caterpillar and the butterfly in a metaphor about spiritual development.

8. in western cultures
They are the soul of the dead. Psyche in Europe was a butterfly. And to the Maya, at least in Tulum, they told me that all the butterflies were the souls of those who had gone before but not yet reincarnated. I guess it beats hanging out in Limbo!

The conservation movement is a breeding ground of communists
and other subversives. We intend to clean them out,
even if it means rounding up every birdwatcher in the country.

16. Mr B's theory was that someone in the died in the wreck
that was 100 feet in front of us and kept us parked for a half hour. Two life flight helicopters and two paramedics were there. I remember the minivan involved in the crash pasted me about an hour before(I was going about 85mph). The driver kept turning around and talking to a kid in a car seat in the back...just looked distracted and flighty.

ps..forgive my spelling and grammatical errors...I am tired.
