Pity Party Thread. Post here why you need pity.
Me. My head's been hurting all weekend. Something to do with the barometric pressure, I think.

Tell us here why you need pity and we'll all commiserate.

yesterday it hit maybe 116 degrees in the sun, and last night there was a massive sand/dust storm. everything is covered in dust (fines) and last night we had to try to sleep through eating dust. today, there's dust all over everything in the sleeping quarters, the offices, inside the vehicles. the streets are covered with dust.
whew this place is miserable in june.
other than that, i didn't get to practice last night cause work went late!

9. I was made to watch Faux News this morning.
At my girlfriend's right-wing sister's house. First thing on a beautiful Sunday morning. They were interviewing the guy from Amnesty International about Amnesty's report on the United States human rights abuses. Her sister actually asked me "Why that guy hates the "United States". Not "Why does he hate America?" but close enough. I pity her.

13. I never have enough time to do anything. It seems when I was
younger, I had time to do things I enjoy, camping, fishing etc etc.. Now that I'm older I feel like I always have something that needs to be done before I can enjoy life. Today I ran the damn weed eater all day. Yesterday I washed the guttering on the house. I mowed grass Thursday and Friday night and it looks like I need to mow again. I think when I was young I just the made time to enjoy life and let work things go..

19. Poor me. I only got to go fishing for four hours yesterday.
And I only got to go look at the truck exhibition at the high school with the little guy for three hours today, and only got to shoot pool at the Rec Center in the town hall for an hour and a half after that.

And I only got to drive Missy with the top down for a couple of hours this weekend. And Mrs R. only made me two Mango Margaritas this evening, because she had to pay attention to the steaks she was grilling for dinner.

How much more of this kind of life do you think I'll be able to take?

23. My very existence is in jeopardy at the moment
My blood sugar is spiraling through the 400's and I don't know if stealing some of my wife's medication is going to help bring it down. I spent 6 weeks with one ankle in a cast, in an attempt to get rid of horrible plantar fasciitis in my left foot. I don't think it helped. While sitting in one place for 6 weeks, taking heavy anti-inflammatories and steroids that promote water retention, my right leg ballooned up and I developed a cellulitis infection. I got that treated with a 7-day run of cephalexin and while the cellulitis itself is gone - as is most of the water retention with the help of lasix and potassium - the wounds that were left have become infected. I am now on an antibiotic called augmentin, that prior to yesterday I had never even heard of. How this is supposed to heal up rather than costing me a fucking leg with my blood sugar fast approaching the coma zone is anybody's guess. I am also, for the first time in my life, taking a mood-altering drug (xanax) to try and keep myself from going totally nuclear over all this fucking stress. I had dropped roughly 50 pounds when this plantar fasciitis shit set in a year ago. In that time I have been utterly jacked off by "foot specialists" and have grown to hate doctors and HMO's with a passion that creates stories on the evening news. While trying to contend with non-stop crippling pain I have gained back every pound of that weight and lost damn near everything I own due to thousands of dollars in lost wages (including a string of under 20-hour work weeks a few months ago because I couldn't stand the pain and left early every chance I possibly could).

I might post about this in more detail in the fat acceptance forum because, believe it or not, there is a lot more I could say but this is just a spur-of-the-moment rant, just because the invitation was extended and all. How can I pass that up?

All 6'3" and 419 lbs. of me thanks you for your time....

36. I went from this range to off medication in a few months
previously. That was with diet and exercise and no pain. I believe I can do it again, but this infection on my right leg is scaring the bejeezus out of me. I'm determined to beat this no matter what, but I can't get over how much I've regressed over the last year. I could have been well below 300 at this point if not for having to contend with this foot pain for over a year now. I've decided that if it won't go away I'm going to carry on like normal until I am no longer able to stand at all. Then maybe I'll get some care that is worth a damn.

42. Wow, GG
What a load of stuff to have to deal with  Sounds like you could probably use some insulin in the meantime, to get your blood sugars back down. Infection will definitely drive them up, which in turn makes it harder for your body to fight infection. Good luck to you with getting healthy again!
