Have you ever cleaned your car's floor mats? |
|
Ordinarily, I don't give a flip about them, but after 7 years of sand and salt accumulation, they're pretty grimy. Had them soaking in the bathtub, but they're still filthy.
Any suggestions?

They're like the interior - faded blue.
I would have left them alone, but I had a soda accident about a month ago. Dirt I can handle. Mold is not my friend.
How are ya, Sparks?

Use that foam on carpet cleaner and a scrub brush.

5. I hang them up and hit them with the power washer |
|
Every few years. It's not like I'm eating dinner off of them. :)
I just rug doctored my carpets a few days ago, now that's some serious dirt. The recovered water was black. My bedroom carpet still smells like dog pee though. :(

We had a dog that used to have accidents in the house. That smell NEVER left, until we replaced the carpet and padding.
Hairballs are so much easier to deal with. :)

9. I'm thinking about installing wood floors in the bedroom |
|
My puppy is very stubborn and I'm a pushover. It doesn't help that the carpet is that brown color that hides pee perfectly. 100% positive reinforcement is not working, and I refuse to be an asshole to defenseless animals. Ehh, I never liked the carpet anyway.

10. My brother ended up doing that. |
|
They had a Cocker Spaniel who peed everywhere, so they kept ripping up the carpet, whenever they could afford to do so, and replace with hardwood flooring (tile in the kitchen). Very attractive, but hard on the feet if you go barefoot.

11. Soap 'em up a bit with mild detergent, then hose'em off in the driveway... |
|
and use high pressure on the nozzle. Air dry.
You're good to go, Rev!

Time to break out the ol' "steam buggy." :) Thanks for the idea - I completely forgot about that! :hi:

14. Squirt a little diluted simple green on the dirtiest spots |
|
then run the steam cleaner over the whole mess, it really helps a lot. :)
