I'd batten down the hatches - this coming from an old pilot (with a lot of experience in Tornado Alley)...:scared:

It wasn't really the epicenter of the storm, but there was a lot of damage to the trees. I wouldn't want them to be even driving in a bad storm... but I just called my sister and she's taking her kids out to the doctor. :(

19. We already got hit at around 1pm.
Edited on Mon Jun-06-05 02:33 PM by NYdemocrat089
It started getting really dark around 12:30 then at 1:00 all hell broke loose. There was hail, strong wind, lightning, thunder, etc. etc.

The power surged in school (we have a generator...so it didn't go out). At home my mom told me that the power went out twice. There was a tree down in the road by our house, and some wires were down.

We're under a tornado watch until 6pm.

26. Chicago had an insane storm on Saturday and my husband and I
got caught in it about 6 blocks from our car. You could actually see the wall of rain moving up the street towards us before it engulfed us. We looked and felt like we'd jumped in a lake fully clothed. After a minute or so you just have to laugh.
