1. I haven't heard anything contrary.
But just as with any breed, if it's improperly or irresponsibly raised it could lead to issues.

I understand that they will continually challenge you to find out who's the Alpha. Combine that with their size, and you could have some problems on your hands.

3. From experience with one from Pup to adult
they are gentle, but, they do not know that they are big and heavy and will try to curl up in your lap like they did as pups...

I can't imagine anyone possibly doing anything to provoke a great dane to genuine anger.

I have a maltese that is convinced she's a schutzhund when the mail lady shows up though.

7. we adopted an adult Dane but could not keep her because she tried to
attack every child that came near her. When we contacted her original owners, they said, oh, yeah, she doesn't like kids too much. I have no idea if she was born with the dislike or grew to hate children. Though I have never met another Dane that disliked kids.
