Xultar's second Kitty thread. Allow me to introduce you to Coco.
Edited on Mon Jun-06-05 05:46 PM by xultar
Coco is 10 years old. She's mean as she is beautiful. She's the second cat I've adopted. I got her for free from a friend @ work who had a friend who had kittens. I didn't know any better to pick one of the funny kitties. I picked Coco who stood all alone by herself in a corner. I'll never do that again. I'll introduce you to each of my putty cats over the next few months. This is also serving as a test thread for a fellow DUer.

7. .... and they'll also sit on your newspaper
(same exact paragraph you are reading -- that's EXACTLY where the furry little kitty butt goes) and they block your computer monitor with their soft kitty bodies and they don't let you wrap presents without a struggle. *sigh* Kitties. Gotta love 'em.

11. I've always wondered how they knew what I was reading so they
knew just where to sit.

10. Yup! And I'd let'em. I let my cats walk on me anytime they want.

8. As long as you don't encourage
her in aggressive type behavior, she might stop, though 10 is a little old to be changing too much.

With my own, if I'm rubbing their belly or something like that, if they begin to use teeth or back claws, I stop immediately, It's one of the ways they know that I won't play with them if they're like that. Aggressiveness comes from encouraging them to be aggressive, whether it's encouraging them to bite, claw or both. When I play with a feather or other such toy with them, it's the same thing--encouraging them to just grab the feather and then release, they usually get applause, but if they grab it and don't release it, I stop the game.

She's pretty. My friend Barb had a similar one that was a rescue, and lived to be fairly old--I think she was about 15 or 16 when she finally passed.

12. Coco is nice to me. She only throws a hissy fit when I keep her
to long brushing or cutting the nails. She's always hissing @ the other putty cats. It is like she's replaced her meow with the hiss.

13. This is BC
a feral kitten rescue.

He was also the meanest cat I've ever run into, but after about 8 months he seeks out attention and purrs loudly. He still likes to be left alone sometimes, but he is much sweeter than he used to be.

15. BC is very handsome
glad he has chilled a bit

cats that have been abused or not been around many people can lash out when they are scared. His better behavior might be a sign of trust
