Just two samples of where I wuz at today. (pic moderate)
I went to como park today and took some pics.

Given the bright conditions and using a higher aperture (5.6~16, usually 8) I was shocked to see how some of the pics were STILL overexposed. :wow: (of course, my developer often overexposes the neg on the print, so once I scan the negs I'll know for sure what's what.)

The slide film is coming back on Friday and now I'm apprehensive as it can be very sensitive with film.

But an 75% turnout is acceptable by me.

Meanwhile, here are some quick'n'dirty scans of the prints; I'll be scanning and archiving the negs later...

The conservatory building.

Yes, they are that color.

I took a photo of this 2 hrs previously when it was open (ala on slide film). This one was also blurry, not sure why...

The off-centering is deliberate but I had trouble holding the camera steady...

More flamingos. The 6th one in the black seems underexposed. :-(

This was more overexposed than I had thought, but the neg scan will let me know for sure. Any processing I do then will be done on the scanned negs.

I also corrected the tornado pic so one can see the clouds:

1. Nice pics Toad,
did you take any of the seals? Seems to me that might even rival a kitten thread!

What overlook was the storm photo taken from?

3. No seals. Not today. Maybe later on...
I don't recall the details but the overlook was a generic on overlooking the St Croix river.

4. Don't be. The place smells like a zoo...
Okay, it is a zoo, but still... pee-yeew.

Great entrance fee though. And a great way to get exercise and people-watch. I feel sorry for the animals in a way, though.

I took a pic of a zebra that was looking at the fence. It looked sad. (I wanted to get a pic of the zebra earlier in a different area of the pen, zooming in so it would LOOK like it was in a desert terrain. Unfortunately, at the wrong moment, it stood up, and in plain few (and much to everyone's delight, sadly) peed on the ground, then moved off to look at the fence to frown. I can't blame the critter...

All the crying children didn't help either. For one thing, I could never be a parent...
