My boston terrior died today

It was a tragic accident (my fault) which I don't want to talk about. We had her for the last 9 years and I'm really going to miss her. Hugs needed.

Long ago. I was 17, not quite awake, and late leaving for work at 5:30 am when I backed over the mid section of my puppy who was sleeping in the garage. I hadn't noticed that he was curled up next to the tire. He took a few steps, went into convulsions and died very quickly. I cried for days.

well......WELL past teary eyed....i have a huge lump in my throat, i am cooking dinner and i just COMPLETELY lost my appetite.

BB died last Sept. I KNOW what you are going through.

I'm fine. When i read the thread though, it really hit me hard. I am 46 years old and i started tearing up and sniffling! It has been several hours now(Obviously) but this sort of thing always affects me. I see people with dogs and ALWAYS ask if they are friendly and if i can pet them. I see so few Bostons that it hurts to know some other Boston owner has lost a dear friend.

I CAN imagine what Whodied is going through because i thought i had almost killed BB when he was just over 2 yrs. He fell off a boat i was driving and i ran over him with the prop. It is a long story, but he survived to live another 7 happy years but the idea that i had nearly caused his demise had me bawling like a 3 year old.

There is no shame in crying over a lost pet.

None at all.

The unconditional love we receive from our furry friends is unlike that we receive even from our closest human companions.

My heart truly goes out to Whodied.

And Whodied? if you read this and would like to chat with another Boston lover who is pining for his pet, feel free to PM me any time. I think it is best to try your hardest to remember the fun, the funny, the cute and the adorable at this time, NOT beat yourself up about an ACCIDENT.

It's very kind of you to offer your support to whodied - from what you have told me about BB, your circumstances are similar. I have never had a Boston, but I am a HUGE enthusiast. I think they are absolutely wonderful, beautiful dogs, and someday would very much like to have one.

Whenever I see one, I sort of make a fool of myself. :-)
