Bar's open! Step up and buy a drink for Governor Gregoire! |
|
She deserves it. And so do we all after Do-Over Dino Rossi's prolonged, overextended shit-fit.
What'll it be?

3. So . . . aren't the pubbies going to appeal? |
|
Also, I lived in Seattle many years ago (over 25, gasp!) and it was a reliably liberal place. Sure Eastern Washington has some issues with the more progressive cities. And Eugene was regarded as satan's stomping ground by a tiny coterie of 80s fundies.
So what happened that Rossi got so close?

6. I blame it on the advertising |
|
Rossi was no more "moderate" than Ellen Craswell, he just had better marketing. Like Junior (his idol) in 2000, he managed to sell himself as a centrist moderate who merely wanted to change things in Olympia for the benefit of all people. Sadly, it was effective to some degree. I know at least one Democrat who actually voted for the bastard, and I actually saw another car here in Oly that had a Rossi sticker right along side Dean & Patty Murray stickers (that site made me :puke: )
Then some national GOP funded "Republican Governors Association" started running an ad on TV around here about every 20 minutes with a voice that sounded literally demon posessed, calling Christine Gregoire just about every name short of a pedophile or an ax murderer. What's worse is that Chris never really did fight back against the sleaze ads. It was a lot like the Kerry campaign in many ways. Not surprising since Christine leans toward the DLC'ers. (She wasn't my first choice for governor)
Given all those factors, I knew going into it, that it wouldn't be a landslide victory. Of course I never expected an 8 month soap opera either.

10. What the hell. Here's to Gov. Gregoire! Go, Christine! |

Best of luck to you, ma'am. Why do I think the assholes in your states are going to resist complying with your gubernatorial wisdom?
