one for the ladies
A married couple in their early 60s were out celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary in a quiet, romantic little restaurant. Suddenly, a tiny yet beautiful fairy appeared on their table and said,

"For being such an exemplary married couple and for being faithful to each other for all this time, I will grant you each a wish."

"Ooh, I want to travel around the world with my darling husband" said the wife.

The fairy moved her magic stick and - abracadabra! - two tickets for the new QM2 luxury liner appeared in her hands.

Now it was the husband's turn. He thought for a moment and said:

"Well, this is all very romantic, but an opportunity like this only occurs once in a lifetime, so, I'm sorry my love, but my wish is to have a wife 30 years younger than me".

The wife, and the fairy, were deeply disappointed, but a wish is a wish...

So the fairy made a circle with her magic stick and -abracadabra! - the husband became 92 years old.

The moral of this story.....

Men might be ungrateful idiots....

But fairies are...... Female!!!

1. D'OH!!!!!!!!
The guy could have just said, "I wish my wife looked thirty years younger than me at all times!"

Then he gets to look like mr stud and his wife...well she just looks good! They both win!

2. Or he could have said:
"I want my loving wife to always be happy, no matter what, and for me to never fail to see her for the beautiful person that she truly is - no matter what her age."

Now THAT'S a winner.

:P :P

I do grapple with this....I know it is wrong to place significant value on a woman's look, but I guess it is just my one main insecurity that will not go away...we all got flaws and that is one of mine!

I think I got lucky (my screen name turned out to be rather prophetic) - my girlfriend is stunningly beautiful....and she is so brainy and so amazingly cool, giving, down to earth, and low maintenance - who knew that was possible????????? I did not believe it to be possible, but I held out on a serious relationship until all the things I wanted would be wrapped in one person...I almost gave up, but I am sure glad I did not...

3. Thanks, paaga; although maybe this thread should be titled:
"One for the husbands." I get the feeling, some people around here could use the perspective.
