I would no more bring a pet into my house without my husband's agreement than I would attempt to bring a child into the house without his agreement!
In our family, though, it's me who has not agreed to get a dog. My husband wants one, but I would be the one feeding, walking, training, and scooping up after it, and I can't take on that responsibility right now.
