Man delivers 4 pizzas after getting shot
http://www.azcentral.com/offbeat/articles/0607pizza-shoot07-ON.html

Associated Press
Jun. 7, 2005 10:25 AM

TAMPA, Fla. - It'll apparently take more than being shot to keep Thomas Stefanelli from making his rounds as a pizza delivery man.

He suffered a gunshot wound to his leg Saturday, but the 37-year-old continued to make four more deliveries.

He says he was shot by a man in a Halloween mask who was demanding money. Stefanelli says his cell phone wasn't working, so he drove to his next delivery address to call his boss. advertisement

He then made three more deliveries before being taken to a hospital.

I don't know
I worker pizza delivery for years and I averaged 600 a week. It is a better job than people think.

11. wow. veritable aristocracy
In a decent world, one would be able to stop once SHOT.

If 600 a week is "good", then homeownership is just fantasyland.

At least he served his corporate masters well. Good for him. I hope he's okay.

The American thugocracy is based upon skewed statistics like this. Did he make so much that pride had him shrug off a "flesh wound, ma'am", or was he so strapped for cash that he'd crawl to the next delivery in hope of a tip? Answer me that.

Having workers at the mercy of unattentive employers is the soul of ugliness. What were his choices after being shot?

17. I have no Idea what your talking about
I was referring to the comment of making minimum wage as a delivery driver. And yes 600 a week working 4 days/30hours a week is great, considering most of it is cash.

I would have gone to the hospital if I was him. You will have to ask him why he kept going.

9. maybe but I dunno
I think the guy might have just been in a trance caused by the trauma. I was told another shock story in Trinidad. The guide's friend was bitten by a fer de lance, a poisonous snake that has killed some victims in minutes. This victim went to his girlfriend's house, had dinner, did the laundry, and, oh yeah, finally wandered over to the emergency room. He survived. Can't remember for sure now, but I think they even saved the affected limb. The guide said the friend was just unnaturally calm and refused to be stressed but, heck, I think you're entitled to be stressed when Mr. Fer de Lance comes to town!

10. Pizza guys make a LOT in tips.
There would be Saturday nights where I'd make over 80 bucks in tips alone (not including commissions) when I had a delivery job. And I would only be working 4 hours.

2. there is lot of something going to waste there
I'm not saying that delivering pizzas isn't a higher order calling or anything, but geeeez, welcome to GWB's America when a guy like that is surving on tips and gas money.

This pizza delivery man is as virtuous as that woman with three jobs. Please arrange to bring this man to Dear Leader's next Conversation on Strengthening Social Security™.

Thank you
