Texas, and The Road to Hell, which I take to mean the drive between San Antonio to Brownsville, but that would be more like "The Road is Hell."

He does/did rock, and does a lot of mellower, "high and lonesome" stuff, like "Looking for the Summer", and had a hit in the late 70s, "Fool If You Think It's Over".

He's not a high-visibility guy, but he has a lot of fans from high-school to retirement age.

He sounded enough like Mark Knopfler that people liked it right away upon hearing it.
