Another night, another fight outside the tavern across the street..
I put my show on auto-pilot and took a look-see outside the balcony just in time to see 5 people beating the shit out of each other in the parking lot of the tavern across the street, and the bouncers trying to break it up without success. Here come the cops...

1. I've read that this
is a real issue in canada--is that really true or do you just live outside the world's most horrible bar?

2. A little of both...
It seems like there are more drunken brawls here in Edmonton than the cities I've lived in the US, but on the other hand, they usually have way more gunfights than up here.

The tavern across the street is a classic neighborhood one w/ live bands on the weekend, so that may have something to do w/ it, too..

3. Heh, I guess that's the tradeoff
weird, anyway. What time do bars close in Edmonton?

5. I have a right to have a gun.
And in Florida, I have a right to have a gunfight. ;)

Sorry, I'm doing my best gungeon impression.

9. Ha!
IWe have an attack kitty just in case the guns come out; you try shooting a gun when a kitty has their claws in your gonads!

4. I'll never forget the first time I saw someone get punched
Edited on Wed Jun-08-05 02:16 AM by TheProphetess
in real life, that is, as opposed to on T.V. It really freaked me out - but then again I was fairly naive and sheltered at that time in my life. Still, seeing that kind of thing in person is something I hope to never become desensitized to (I'm already desensitized to violence in the media).

I hope your night gets better.

Edited for spelling.

7. Oh, I'm ok..
I'm used to it; most of the fights are pretty comical for the most part. I've only seen one really ugly one since I've been here, and the cops clamped it down pretty quick..
