One of my foster kittens just died in my arms..
I have no idea what happened. I am beyond sad at this moment. I guess it's part of the deal when you foster. Still, I feel horrible, absolutely horrible. I've been crying like a baby.

I just hope it wasn't distemper because if it was my other kittens are in trouble. All are going to the vet this morning.

1. Poor thing!
Aww, that's too bad. Poor baby must have been pretty sick. Let us know how the vet visit goes.

17. I just got off the phone w/ her - another one died
she's racing to the vet's office, and is a basket case. I'm gonna go play w/ my 7 fosters now...it's too depressing.

8. I have like 15 foster kittens
However, in the condo with the sick one are 5 others, ranging in age from probably 3 weeks to 7 weeks.

Kitens are so fragile, they can go from healthy to dead in no time at all. This just sucks!

7. at least you gave it a good, loving place while it lived.
I'm sorry! I grew up on a farm and tried to raise and tame the kitties and they always ended up dying too. I know it's hard.

13. Oh wow. So sorry, prozacnation.

Hat's off to you for being a foster mom. I used to do it but couldn't anymore. I became too attached to them and saying good-bye was heartbreaking. I always thought it would get easier with time, but it never did. We ended up adopting the last cat we fostered, bringing our total to 7.

18. Make that two have died...
the other four are at the vet and seem to be doing okay. I know some people think so what, they are just rescue kittens but every life should be valued. If I hear one more survival of the strongest, blah, blah, blah.. It's hard to think of any of that when you've just held two dying kittens.

But you gave those little babies some quality that they would not have had in the wild.
