OK I admit that Oasis sounds somewhat like the Beatles.

A lot of people compared the Bee Gees to the Beatles when they came out and said they were Beatles wanna-bes. Now what I think is that the analogy between the Beatles and Oasis is just like the comparison between the Bee Gees and their little brother Andy Gibb.

Andy Gibb had songs that sounded like the Bee Gees, but had way more superstardom and went on to do way greater things. Compare the Bee Gees whack movie about Sgt. Pepper (which should show you that they were way more of Beatles wanna-bes than Oasis, that they were in a movie about a Beatles album as stand-ins for the Beatles, while the Beatles were far away somewhere), to Andy Gibb's role in Xanadu which is so obviously the fucken bomb right down to the set design and special effects. I know what you're thinking, that I mean bomb like Xanadu bombed at the box office, but if you are thinking of that you need to step into the nineties and update your slang. The inclusion of Olivia Newton-John and that famous dancer guy in that movie, as well as the soundtrack songs by ELO, from which that guy produced the new Beatles songs on the Anthology (which should tell you something), only confirms the superstardom of Andy Gibb compared to the Bee Gees. I don't even know who was in that Sgt. Pepper movie; maybe Ringo Starr, who got his drums dubbed over on the white album I heard. Plus compare Andy Gibb's rollerskating in Xanadu, which was an extreme sport for the time, to the Beatles just running around in a field in A Hard Day's Night (except Paul, maybe he was dead woooooooo), and you'll see something about the scale of talent on either side.

So there you have it: Oasis is basically Andy Gibb compared to the Bee Gees, when you use it as an analogy about Oasis and the Beatles. They had a similar sound but had more superstardom.

Talent, Sound, attitude, fanbase, sales, hits, NOTHING.
They haven't even got as good of a sibling rivaly as the Kinks!
