If you couldn't declare bankruptcy, what would you do? |
|
I gather that many judges now won't even consider chapter 7 for some; forcing either chapter 13 or to summarily drop the case.
So if you were in that position, what would you do?
Hypothetical, of course.

I imagine it's one of those situations I'd have to actually be in before I know what I would do.

...I've heard of people using those "free" services that call all your creditors and negotiate a "reasonable" payment plan for you. One guy I knew of was paying like, $1,300.00 a month in mostly credit card bills (Requisite speech about responsible financial planning not withstanding) and was able to work it down to less than $700.00. I suppose if I were in charge of one of those "businesses", I'd probably be very, very happy at the prospective business about to head my way.

I would work my way out of the hole I put myself in. I would get a second job, sell everything I could do without. I would move into the cheapest place I could find.
Right now I am making good money but I started out in some real piss-poor jobs. I did the above and I didn't have to declare but it wasn't the easy way out of debt.

12. With peak oil coming, does it matter? |

Does it not matter that these credit card companies also lure kids young (high school)?
Despite the changing laws, the commercials with the cozy, tender music and the talk of having everything and for everything else there's Masturcard...
It's a two-way street. But they act like ravenous wolves wearing bunny masks.
