1. I voted for the European vacation... |
|
because that is in fact what my husband and I are going to do...But it will cost a LOT more than 10K and it will last longer than 10 days. We are looking forward to it a lot...

Sicily, Libya, Malta, Cypress, Turkey and Greece. It's about 3 weeks long and we'll be on this cool little cruise ship (think big yacht). The trip is with the Stanford travel/study people. They send along some expert professors for lectures; and we have local people talking to us when we get to each place. It's called "Turning Points in History." Libya should be especially interesting since that country just opened up to the west about 18 mos. ago...We've never been to any of these places.

7. Start saving your money! These trips are expensive...I mean |
|
10K is typical for one person for a moderate trip. You can find Stanford online...but I don't have their web address... We don't go every year due to the expense...but this year is our 40th wedding anniversary and it's time to celebrate.

There's so much history, archeology, and fusion of cultures right around the eastern med.
You're right about Libya, it's overrun with Roman ruins to name just one aspect.
Just make sure that you have a splendid time. :hi:

9. First choice, second choice |
|
Jamaica - sun, sand, ganja, and maybe a few gay Rastafarian guys. Heaven on Earth.
Manhattan - Broadway, bitchy queens, rough trade, couture and cosmopolitans. Possibly Hell on Earth but a stunningly nice one.
Khash.

For five grand you can have a hell of a time there for 10 days. I've done it before and you can keep the other five for whatever.

Oceanfront private house, eating all the fresh seafood I could eat. Being completely lazy. Enjoying the view with someone that I truly loved. Somewhere quiet when I want to be. I havent had a vacation in 22yrs. I wouldnt need 10k. Half of that and some peace, serenity and complete relaxation.

17. Any one of a couple of resorts in French Polynesia. |
|
Probably on Moorea, with two scuba dives each day, some on motor-sailer day excursions to secondary islands. I've done this three times for two weeks and loved it every time.
I might've considered the Maldives before the tsunami. For $10K I could also spend two weeks in luxury diving the great spots off the coast of Belize ... or comfortable accommodations (1 week liveaboard, 1 week shore resort) diving the Great Barrier Reef.

18. Absolutely somewhere in Europe. |
|
I've been to Italy already, but it's so gorgeous, I wouldn't mind going again.
Then again, Greece, Germany, France, England, Spain, Ireland, Switzerland, etc., all sound so wonderful. I'd have to think. But definitely Europe. :)
