it's the reason that the band broke up in the early 80s. Dickey Betts said that he would never play with him again. Apparently, by the late 80s Betts needed a new bass boat or something and the band reformed. You are right about the early material being fantastic. Pity about Greg being such a lowlife cocksucker, though...

Greg and Duane and Dickie and the rest are amazing. Duane is laid to rest in Macon. Greg has played Athens, GA on many occasions (where we live.) One of my former landlords (sound engineer/Capricorn) recorded some of their albums! My husband heard the Allman Brothers at the Atlanta Rock festival in the early 1970s.
