We're Going Camping This Weekend. I've Never Been To A NUDIST Campground! |
|
... and if we ever go to one, I'll be sure to tell you all about it. But this trip is just going to be an ordinary campground in Williamsburg, VA. Nothing too special... just a chance to get away from home.
I'll have time to make a few posts today... but other than that, I'll see you guys on Tuesday!

2. Ever been to Hillside in PA? |
|
Never been myself, but I've heard it's a great place to "become one with nature" - know-what-I-mean know-what-I-mean.

6. Growing up, we used to go to two of them... |
|
Sunshine Park in New Jersey and Pine Tree here in Maryland.
I loved it. The biggest surprise was going one weekend and seeing a family that lived up the street from us. Although I think they were just as surprised to see us. :-)
I think if more people went to nudist camps, there were be far fewer people with body hang ups.

I live near Williamsburg! Are you going to check out Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, et al?
It is mighty hot here by the way.

16. Nope... Nothing Special. -- No Touristy Stuff... |
|
Just getting out of town and trying to find a quiet and shady spot outdoors.
We are SO-O-O not doing *anything* that I'm not even planning on visiting my Mom at her house in Yorktown. If she wants to visit, she can come see me! :-)
We've done Colonial W'burg and BG before... but we didn't have a dog at the time. It's almost like having a baby... you have to adjust your activities. BUT it's not quite the same as having a baby because most places (in Virginia) won't let you in (even Lowe's!) with a dog in a purse/travel-bag-kennel.
And... leaving our dog in the pop-up camper while we're away for an extended period isn't really a good option either. -- Even though we love our camper, it's about as secure as a tent. If someone REALLY wanted in, they could do it easily and quietly... and if our pup started having a barking-fit, it would definitely disturb the neighbors. Also, if she REALLY wanted out, it's possible that she might discover the weak canvas corners around the fold-out beds.
As soon as we move up to a hard-sided camper we'll be able to see and do more things in the local area whenever we go camping.

I think for hiking in the woods... or along nature trails, I'd definitely want to wear SOMETHING! But lounging around the campsite or at the pool... it would be fine. (As long as I've got SHADE or SPF-100 sun screen.)

26. Oh, how I envy you! We now are in the central South and... |
|
...literally have to argue at grocery stores...
Bubba at counter: "But it's supposed to smell like fish."
Us: "No, Bubba, it ain't supposed to smell like fish. If it does, it is GONE BAD!"
My fav seafood memory was having scallops hauled right off the boat by a buddy in Glucester, Va. He brought them direct to the kitchen in a burlap bag and we fried them lightly in butter. OH MAN...like eating candy!
 I am SOOO jealous!

I camped out enough for my whole life when I was in Boy Scouts, and I'll never voluntarily go camping again.

I'm jealous! I saw a nice used pop-up a couple of days ago--wish I could afford one.
We'll just stick to our tent until I can buy a camper.
You guys have fun!!
