The Flaming Lips - The Fearless Freaks (DVD) |
|
Edited on Thu Jun-09-05 10:23 AM by Kazak
Anyone seen the fantastic documentary about the Flaming Lips called The Fearless Freaks yet? It's great. I would recommend it to anyone who's interested in the Lips even in the slightest. Having grown up in Norman, OK (I still live there), I happened to be AT a lot of the gigs from which footage was compiled for the film, and I can in fact be seen IN the film, in one of the live clips that is briefly shown before the main title screen is even shown. I'm also in one of the live clips that comes with the bonus footage that comes with the DVD. Anyway, cool film about their humble beginnings...check it out if you get the chance. :)
Edit: spelling errors.

It's playing at a couple theaters, and I keep hearing good things about it.
I should ask though: I'm not such a huge fan (or that knowledgable) of their older stuff. Is there still enjoyment to be taken from those parts even if you're not a die hard fan?

The older stuff may be a tad louder than what you're probably used to, but it's still plenty good. They really never have veered very far off the path they started in their beginnings.
