54 Year Old Man Lives Life As Two Year Old Girl (yes, PICS enclosed)
Edited on Thu Jun-09-05 11:55 AM by matcom

<snip>

It's late on a warm Thursday night in April, and William Windsor heads to the checkout stand at the Fry's supermarket at 20th Street and Highland Avenue, in central Phoenix.

Customers and cashiers stare at the 5-foot-11, 180-pound man, who is dressed in a pink bonnet, pink shorty dress, and white patent leather shoes. Gold heart-shaped earrings twinkle beneath his carefully curled hair. Under his dress, you can see his diaper. He takes his place in line with a carry-all basket full of juice and Gerber baby food.

"Oh shit! It's Baby Man," says one cashier, a Hispanic kid who's heard the legend but has never been a witness to the spectacle. "It's like Sasquatch!" he says. "You don't believe it exists until you see it."

And even then, you're likely to think Baby Man is the star of a hidden-camera TV show, a singing telegram, or maybe on his way to a costume party. But Windsor is for real. This is no spoof.

The customers waiting in line behind Windsor -- a 54-year-old semi-retired singer and actor, and "full-time adult baby/diaper lover" (AB/DL) -- are giggling, then grimacing. But Windsor seems oblivious.

When offered a business card and asked for an interview, Windsor doesn't bother to remove the pacifier he's sucking on before responding.

"Oh, cool," he says from the side of his mouth.

He promises he'll call the next day to answer the biggest question of all:

Why?

And then he gets into his Buick sedan -- personalized license plate: "DIAPER1" -- and drives home to his east Phoenix apartment where he'll play with stuffed animals, eat in his high chair, and maybe play on the Internet, searching for friends.

Then he'll wash his messy nappies before putting himself down for the night in a custom-made crib big enough for a baby his size.

But I bet she really considers herself his "Babysitter".

I hope she's into Scat...

100. Here's the official info on Baby Man's "mommy"
The article has this to say about "mommy"...
Eventually, his relationship with Anna ended because of her drug problems, he says.

Now, he's got a new mommy, although she won't change his diapers or let him breast-feed.

Anita -- who requests her last name not be printed because she fears Child Protective Services might put her on its radar -- is a 44-year-old woman whom Windsor met through mutual friends in the north Phoenix neighborhood he lived two years ago. Anita knew about "the baby thing" before she'd ever met Windsor.

"I don't think there's really anything weird about him," Anita says, as her 5-year-old son plays on swings at Los Olivos Park, behind Windsor's apartment complex. William sits at a park bench next to her. "I think it's something everybody wishes they could do. Who doesn't just want to be taken care of and mothered all day?"

Anita says she gets to fulfill her urge to nurture, as her son runs through a sandbox in the park. She has an older son who moved out of the house years ago.

"These are my boys," she says.

But she won't change Windsor's diapers.

"That's just not something I'm comfortable with."

She's fine, however, with her son playing "roll the ball" with "Baby."

"Oh, my son loves 'Baby,'" she insists. "A lot of times, because he thinks is just one big baby, he starts to beat up on him!

"It's really funny to see it."

5. Good Lord!
It took Windsor more than seven months to retrain himself "to go" in his diapers, he says. He bought hypnosis tapes available online at dpf.com and other sites. "But the tapes aren't enough. You have to want it," he says. So he even went so far as to chain-lock his toilet.

"Visitors weren't so happy about that," he says. "I am incontinent now. I never know when it's going to strike. It's to the point now where if I didn't wear diapers, I wouldn't have the time to get to a bathroom. I wouldn't trust myself anymore without the diapers.

18. He was the lead in Hair on Broadway and he smokes and drinks!
Edited on Thu Jun-09-05 12:26 PM by CottonBear
"It wasn't until he moved to New York City at the age of 20 that anyone in his family even acknowledged his desire to perform. Once he got the lead role of Claude in the musical Hair, in 1971 -- the original cast opened the musical in 1968 -- it was his grandmother, Louise Hunter, who sang for the New York Metropolitan Opera until 1928, and not his mother or father, who came to see him perform on Broadway."

"Men, the majority of the "AB/DL" community by at least 9-to-1 according to sites like dpf.com (the Diaper Pail Friends network) and infantilism.org, are known to organize "diaper lover" parties in New York and L.A., where they dance around in diapers and make small talk about their day jobs. In late July, the second annual "Adult Baby Camp" gets under way at a campground in Alberta, Canada, where a few dozen outdoorsy babies are expected to show, and fish the remote Wildhay River in nothing more than a cloth nappy."

125. Funny, in a really sad sort of way. Puts the Michael Jackson case of
"infantilism" and possible pedophilia into a brand new perspective, doesn't it?

The article is one of the oddest I've ever seen, but it's well written, looks to be fact-checked, and authentic. When I first saw your subject line, I said "This is something out of a tabloid!" but it's not.

My husband thinks we should euthanize people like this to put them out of their misery!! I told him that's not a very liberal or progressive opinion. Perhaps we should pity him or help him (if he wants help with this) just as we might anyone else with a fetish or problem such as alcoholism, bulemia, anorexia, etc.

Is this man harming anyone or doing anything illegal or damaging himself or others in any way?

He considers his parents' divorce when he was 11 years old. His father cheated on his mother with one of his students at ASU, and eventually married her, according to Willie.

"I thought, 'I'm gonna show him. Now I'm really gonna get into this baby thing,'" he says.

Why couldn't bush have done this instead of "taking out Saddam." Preznit Babypants.

I'm only 50% through with the article and I've burst out laughing so many times I can't count.

I know we will be chided for laughing at this (it's a personality disorder) and I'm sorry, so far it's just so damn funny.

Listen...I have been pointed at, laughed at and ridiculed by mean people with mean motives, and it just plain sucks.
and I don't like seeing this sort of shit on DU, okay?

I thought we were better than that.

I am a transsexual...and, during my "ugly-duckling" stage that all transsexuals go through...I had my share of being discriminated against, laughed at, picked on, beaten up, and pointed at...giggled about, you name it.

It just plain fucking sucks.

Who's he hurting? No one.

Do you honestly feel so insecure about yourself that you feel the need to find someone like this to look down on and point at and giggle about?

If so, I pity you.

And I'm shocked to see this sort of non-compassion on DU, from DU'ers. I thought we were better than that.

This is something I'd expect to see from a Freeper. Not that I'm calling YOU a Freeper...but, geez...this is just lacking of all heart, soul, and compassion, to drag this guy out and point and snicker, and giggle and laugh...it makes me sick to know some of my felow DU'ers are exhibiting the sort of behavior I'd EXPECT from the other side of the aisle.

You are depraved and obviously insecure about your own self, if you need to find someone or something like that to point at and laugh at.

I had to deal with a lot of pieces of shit pointing and laughing at me, when I was in some difficult stages of my gender transition.

There is nothing cool or funny about what you are doing. It is mean-spirited. It is a complete lacking of compassion.

Would I want this guy as a houseguest? No. But damned if I am going to lower myself to your level and laugh at his eccentricities.

That is heartless, soulless...and lacking in all human compassion.

101. No, You Are Right - On One Point
my gender issue ISN'T like that. BUT..I have had mean-spirited assholes point and laugh at me for it, and I can tell you it does not feel good.

Why not show a little compassion, and just let the man be?

And, quite frankly, we still haven't touched on the core issue...which is Why do YOU feel the need to point and laugh at this guy?

Why are you unable to just show a little compassion for a guy who obviously has some sort of emotional/psychological disorder?

How do you know this guy didn't suffer some very severe trauma...in his adult life or maybe when he was a child...and now is reverting back to that as a place to hide from a world that is getting crueller, and more intolerant by the day. Maybe he needs to do this, and it fulfills something in him.

This world is already cruel, mean, and heartless enough. Why do you feel a need to add to it?

where on earth do you get severe trauma out of this??? you sound like some jerry springer or oprah program on "repressed memories" or some other pop psychology garbage. this guy never asked you to pity him or to infer psychological trauma on his part. from the pics, and the fact that he went public with them, i would guess that he is enjoying the attention and the shock value.

it is a choice he is making, to be public with this stuff, and as an adult (yes, he is an adult), he has to expect that others will have responses to such unusual behavior. this is NOT some grand civil rights or mental health protection issue.

159. Alert all you want.
The thing is, I am straight, but I understand gays. I don't laugh about them.

I'm not transgendered, but I can imagine feeling you were born wrong so strongly that you take active steps to make your physical gender conform with your mental gender. I don't laugh about them.

I'm not a furry, but I can... Oh, to hell with it... I don't get the furrys. I laugh at them. So sue me.

But a 54-year-old man who has a baby fetish, and proudly lets his freak flag fly?

Like I said, I think the guy WANTS the attention. If he didn't, he'd contain his fetish to his private life.

Gay, TG, etc, to me is a different issue than a fetish. I find SOME fetishes absolutely hilarious. The underlying issues of sexuality or gender I don't.

So relax, I prolly wouldn't laugh at you. Unless you were TG AND had a baby fetish. But I'd want you to know, I'd only be laughing at the baby fetish part.

I remember as a grad student, sitting on the bus, and seeing an undergrad girl get on. Her head was nearly shaved. The remaining hair was died fluorescent green, making her head look a bit like a tennis ball. She had an awful lot of hardware in her face; every bit that protruded was pierced, multiple times. She also had a tattoo on her neck.

She noticed me looking at her and snarled, "What are YOU looking at?!" I replied, "Somebody who obviously wants the attention." I feel the same way about a 54-year-old man who dresses up in public like a baby.

169. No. It Isn't Funny.
This man is obviously suffering, and in some pain, or suffered some trauma...as to make this the only place he can find solace.

And you...you make it all the worse by being a non-compassionate, gawking, pointing asshole about it.

Fuck. I thought my DU brothers and sisters were better than that.

Apparently, I was wrong.

Second...I'm happy to keep this thread kicked, and let the rest of DU see what kind of non-compassionate assholes are flying the DU flag.

At least I got a few allies, who see it my way. Those are the REAL DU'ers. The ones who display compassion and sympathy.

19. Phil Donahue did a show on...
AB/DL folks way back in the early 80s, if I remember. The whole set was filled with adult size cribs and toys, with these adult men sitting in their nappies. I didn't see one woman on the show.

A big part of the turn on for them was the crapping in their nappies part of it. Some of them also hired "nannies" to care for them or lactating women so they could nurse.

There are mnay fetishes I can get behind, but this ain't one of them.

Geez, that's a closet full of stories in my head I did not want opened...

Last time I saw one of these guys was a few years ago on a bench in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. He was resting his head in his "nanny's" lap, sucking on a bottle.

My kids just looked at them for a second, probably thinking like "well, that's odd," but none of us said anything.

He had very hairy legs.

One of the men on that show brought along his wife, and they had a videotape of the couple's typical day, which included his wife changing his diapers.

No, thank you!

article.

First of all the story was in a New Times paper and it would not be the first time they totally fabricated a story to generate interest in their paper. A couple of years ago the local New Times paper, The Riverfront Times, fabricated a story about a 13 year old female basketball phenom who had the unlikely nickname of Shebron. There was a lot of talk about this girl in St Louis and lo and behold it was all a LIE.

I know there is a infantilist fetish but I seriously doubt this guy goes to the store dressed as a baby on a regular basis.

I doubted the authenticity early on when the checkout kid says, "it's like Sasquatch!" If he'd said, "It's like Bigfoot", I *might* buy it, but Sasquatch? Nah.

edited because I just realized that I thought the most unbelievable thing about this story was that a teenaged boy knew what Sasquatch was. Jeez, I'm on the Internet too much! :eyes:

24. Willie Windsor goes to Bogie's, a biker joint, a bar:
It's hot and muggy outside Bogie's, a biker joint on 26th Street and Indian School Road, and the early-evening sunlight shines through the cracked back door, illuminating a layer of cigarette smoke hovering above the bar.

<snip>

Finally, William Windsor appears in the foyer. His face is flushed and he's visibly winded from the walk over, from his apartment a few blocks away. He enters to an ovation of silence and disbelief. A tiny Navajo woman pushes herself up from her stool to get a glimpse, and two men in tight corduroy shorts have forgotten to light their cigarettes. The lull continues for about five seconds before a lanky 50-something asks aloud:

"What. In. The. Hell?"

"Hey, man," Windsor says, placing his "binky" on the counter before extending a hand.

He wears a pink bonnet over his golden locks, a pink polka-dotted dress that barely conceals his diaper, white bobby socks with lace trim, and those patent leather shoes. He sets a rag doll down gently next to his pacifier on the bar.

58. I saw a case of this on CSI
so it doesn't really shake me up. There are people out there doing the damnedest of things, but this one is relatively innocuous. I'd rather read about one of these guys than a S&M anyday, though. Wanting to be like a child is sad in my view--it rightly ties itself into the desire to be loved, especially when you haven't had that kind of unconditional love in your own life at any point.

But all kidding aside, this guy is pretty brave to allow himself to "come out" on the subject--he can help others who might have similar tendencies to focus on what it is in their lives that compels them to do such out of the ordinary things.

If it weren't for the people who have bravely stepped forward to tell about their innermost secrets and trials, we would not have become as open as we have in respect to problems long buried in our culture.

For instance, the RRR likes to think that before we "liberals" got so cocky, there was no pedophilia, no incest, less rapes, no abortions, no sex other than for reproduction. That's why the RRR considers books like the Kinsey Report so dangerous--it allows us to share our problems, failings, troubles and intimations with others who have all along thought they were the only ones who did "deviant" behavior. Once it becomes public, the stigma goes away. How many of us had an uncle who just "never married" or had a family friend try to sexually abuse them? How many families held many dark secrets over the years which would "finish them off" if these things ever came out in public? I am of the firm opinion that it's those who manage to take these "secrets" and expose them who are real heroes, because once something is in the open, it can never be used to intimidate anyone ever again.

Kudos to this guy for sharing his fantasies with the world--he can never be blackmailed by anyone now who "knows his secret" because he has chosen to let the world in on it.

There is nothing unhealthy or "kooky" about two consenting adults safely participating in something that they enjoy. What two people do in the privacy of their home is nobodies business but their own.

200. I never said there was
and I know that there are a lot of couples, threesomes and more who enjoy that in their lifestyle. But my comment was that we rarely hear about such cases as this, because it's considered even more bizarre than S&M or other fetishes. It probably equates to some very kinky things, but I don't see it as overly bizarre at all. To me, and to me personally, this kind of fetish/fantasy/behavior is less strange than someone wanting to beat up someone else in order to achieve a sexual high. To each his/her own, of course.

69. I live in Phoenix
and I read this story during my lunch today, thinking "Jeez, this guy's a bit off, I wonder what part of the city he lives in?". Then he tells the reporter to meet him at Bogies, a bar up the street from where he lives.

I'm thinking "hey, I LIVE JUST UP THE STREET FROM BOGIES"!

I've never seen Baby Man - but I'm pretty surprised he ended up there - it's a pretty rough bar at times. Now I've gotta keep my eye out for a buick with the license plate DIAPER1 in my neighborhood.

Not that I care how he lives his life - but that's some messed up-stuff!

If I ever get a Baby Man sighting, I'll make sure to post it in here . . . .

I sense that the original poster here posted this as a way of making fun of this guy, and if that was the intent, then I am offended.

Sure, this guy is eccentric, strange, even...but is he HURTING anyone? No. Not by anything I read. So why give him a hard time and make fun?

And that goddam checker saying what he did...and comparing a customer to Sasquatch?? If I were the store manager, and I overheard that...that checker woulda been fired, right there...on the spot...in front of everyone...and he would have been told, right in front of everyone, exactly WHY he was being fired.

At age 54, Baby Man refuses to leave the comfort of incontinent toddlerhood. In fact, he padlocked his toilet in a bid to retreat to the Eden of diapered innocence.

Baby Man, it would seem, is all about the comfy and the familiar. Wouldn't any relevant lecture about education and progress and dealing with change be better addressed to him?

161. Why?
Do those words, perhaps make YOU uncomfortable?? do they make YOU have to re-assess YOUR "comfy and familiar?" And your ability to cope with what is outside it?

Do the words force YOU to reconsider your oh-so-comfortable prejudices and smug self-superiority?

I cannot believe some of the shit I am hearing directed at this man from my fellow DU'ers...who are SUPPOSED to be the more tolerant, understanding, and compassionate people. I'd expect it from Freepers and Republicans. I don't expect it from DU'ers.

I've already as much as said...ok, look...this guy is definitely not normal...obviously something very traumatic has occurred in his life, and he has obviously retreated into the only solace he can find from a bitter, cruel, mean, selfish world.

Would I want him as a houseguest? Hell no. But is it reason to point and laugh, and make sick jokes about a guy who obviously has suffered, and suffered a great deal...to make this the only way he can find some solace.

maybe we should be examining what factors led to this ultimate state this man now seems to prefer, over the reality that obviously has hurt him so badly as to offer no other alternative.

I guess I am appealing to my fellow DU'ers to look beneath the surface, instead of just pointing and laughing at the exterior, like Freepers and Republicans would...and do.

Maybe I'm expecting too much out of some of my fellow DU'ers...maybe some of y'all are NOT as compassionate...tolerant...or as liberal...as I would have liked to believe.

I can't imagine a Little Bo Peep GA Theater employee! I shop at Food Lion so I wouldn't have run into Little Bo Peep Man.

I'm going to organize an Athens Area DU meetup for this summer. I considered the weekend of Athfest but its probably going to be too crowded downtown with all of the goings on. There are a few of us in Athens! I know of 3 or 4 others. RubyDuby said that she'd come. She lives southeast of Atlanta. I thought that the Globe would be an ideal location. The only problem would be getting a big table. I'd have to get there early and stake one out. Maybe a late afternoon/early evening Saturday meetup would be workable. Let me know if you're interested.

Cheers! CottonBear :hi:

Isn't that sad? Perhaps he might have been the John Raitt or another singer of his generation. Many performance oriented people end up with problems. At least this guy isn't hurting anyone.

138. practicing a fetish in public INVITES judgement...
... begs for it, in fact.

This man isn't just "being different". He is deliberately, knowingly going very far out of his way to make a spectacle of himself.

Mind you, he's quite free to do that, which is as it should be. Baby Man is entitled to a certain measure of tolerance. But that does not mean that people have wronged him if they find his exhibitionistic behavior sick and repulsive, and say so.

I happen to like the cultural norms that discourage grown men from wandering the streets in diapers and babydoll dresses. I think it's a good thing that society generally agrees that sexual fetishes are to be practiced in private. I'm grateful that most people are considerate enough of others to keep their kinks to themselves. And I don't think I've done anyone wrong by expressing this point of view.

Some would use a similar argument against GLBT individuals being able to walk around freely in public.

150. As one who participates in fetish behavior I see a HUGE difference here...
There is a difference between GLBT individuals walking around freely (at least to me) and someone involving the public in their fetish or kink. GLBT is not a fetish. To me, age play is.

What about the individuals who are into puppy or pony play? Should these individuals be able to go to the store dressed up as a pony or puppy and being led by a leash and collar?

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with age play or pony play. There is nothing wrong with wearing a collar and being led around on a leash. Just like there is nothing wrong with people who enjoy pain, feet, etc. Good for him for recognizing what he needs to be at peace. :-)

But, while I may enjoy these things in the privacy of my home, I would never involve the public in this. It isn't fair to them. They didn't sign up to be part of a scene.

Just my 2 cents.

you have diagnosed this man as having a fetish...and a sexual one, at that.
From what I read of the article, there was no credible evidence to suggest this man got any sexual pleasure out of what he was doing.

So where, exactly do you get off diagnosing this man?

Or has Dr. Frist endowed YOU with the ability to diagnose people you've never met, and from hundreds of miles away?

And at what point did you become qualified to assume trauma in this man's past with absolutely no evidence?

123. Well, this is a great way to end the day -- reading about a 54 year old --
two-year-old. I'm too amused, I guess, to be shocked or disgusted, but I must say that the drive for attention (present in most performance-oriented people such as myself) has really taken a weird turn with these individuals. This fellow was quite handsome when he was young -- but no toupees or hair transplants or life extension shots for him, I guess.

I had no idea these people existed. This is a brand new topic for me.

Wish I could explore it more with all of you, but I have to go to bed -- and I'll plump up all of my stuffed dollies and plush toys that I have collected since my granddaughter's birth. My husband just asked me if I'll give up my doll collection when my granddaughter goes to middle school (she's only in 1st grade). I told him I'd think about it!

Now I might tell him I'll BECOME his baby dolly if he wants -- but not the part about the adult diapers. That's pretty gross -- I've cleaned up all the poop from kids and dogs in my life that I ever want to see.

Y'know Shakespeare's quote about the seven ages of man -- how we all go out of this life more like babies -- "sans teeth, sans eyes, sans teeth, sans everything" ("Sans" is the French word for "without")? This gives new meaning to becoming a baby when you get old! He'll fit right in at the nursing home!

139. So nice to see so many accepting people at DU
One of my closest friends enjoys this fetish, something I found out accidentally about a year ago. Though he doesn't dress as a baby girl.

From what I can gather this is a pretty common fetish that harms no one.

So let's all point and laugh at this guy and ensure that anyone else who has the same fetish will never hope to gain acceptance either.

140. I agree with you ikri
It's just a fetish, albeit one of the more unusual ones. I can't say I'd recommend he do it in public but that's his business.

It reminds me of another thread we had a few weeks back when people were making fun of a goth person.

Aren't we supposed to be the 'liberal' ones, i.e., the ones who don't go around judging people and giving them a hard time about being different (so long as they aren't harming people)?

we are supposed to react the same way to everything, like some sort of clones.

188. Funny, it's usually right-wingers who try to define liberals with...
the old "But I thought you liberals were supposed to be sooooo tolerant" canard.
I'm not saying that the shrill defenders of this ludicrous individual are dragging out a hoary old right-wing talking point...Honest! I'm not! :)

We cannot have senses of humor, except when making fun of right-wingers.

Does incest harm anyone? Because that's a fetish too.

186. not all incest involves children
Some of it takes place between adults who might possibly have a couple of screws loose, but who really are nevertheless consenting adults.

I reserve the right to find that sort of thing revolting, even if no minors were involved.

167. DAMN!!! I Finally Got Allies!! Kudos to Irki and Buffy THEY "Get It!!"
You guys rock!!

All these assholes pointing an laughing at this guy...on DU...makes me positively sick.

I THOUGHT (presumably incorrectly) that WE were supposed to be the more tolerant, compassionate and understanding people.

I THOUGHT (presumably incorrectly) that WE were the ones who would take the time and compassion to look beneath the surface and see a man who is hurting very badly, and has suffered some trauma...instead of poointing and laughing at the exterior as Freepers and Republicans would.

At least YOU TWO still understand what DU is supposed to be about.

And I'm happy to have you guys as allies on this.

Assholes who are pointing and laughing ought to be fucking ashamed of themselves for being so non-compassionate and intolerant.

that OTHERS who enjoy this... or think about it... might be reading this... and decide to sublimate it in themselves, or start to hate themselves for it, or who knows what.

Joining in laughing at "jokes" which hurt people... people whose feelings you MUST write off in order to laugh and point with the crowd... I don't know how comfortable I am with that.

political 'baby men''s portraits. The baby-man administration and their dream doll house, the baby-man supreme court justices, the baby-man pundits, etc.

There is a striking resemblance between Dubya's real mommy and baby Windsor.

And no, Dems should NOT change their diapers. Leave that dirty work to Condi-mommy.

202. Nope - he gets a full 1.25 million
"But a year and a half ago, William Windsor was given another chance when his father, the grandson of H.H. Windsor, who founded Popular Mechanics magazine at the turn of the 20th century, died and left Willie and his three siblings a small fortune -- close to $1.25 million each."

I only point it out because it's a pretty big difference.

I'm just amazed at how good looking he used to be. I mean, hell, he was a fucking stud!

162. Sadly, I knew all about this sick shit
Before my son was toilet trained, I frequented a few boards related to cloth diapers, where we'd discuss which ones worked, which leaked, what detergent works best, stuff like that. Well, apparently it's a constant battle to keep the adult baby freaks away, because they're forever trying to get membership on the CD boards because they get thier jollies when real mothers talk about diapers.

If you ever post a diaper on ebay, you'll eventually get a wierd question from one of them, usually like this:

How big will that stretch? Could you send me a picture where you stretch the siaper out with your hands? Do you have any rubber pants for sale?

Freaks! It really sucks because most of the legit diaper selling businesses won't do adult sizes even though some people could use them for thier intended function, because they don't want to deal with the AB fetish weirdos.
