Argh I have a sty!
I woke up this morning with an irritated eye so when I looked in the mirror I had a damn sty! I've never had one before, how the hell can I get rid of it?

1. Moist heat.
Wet a washcloth with hot water and hold it against your eye. Keep it warm.

4. I'll try that
because right now the irritation is causing my eye to tear up and it is quite annoying

5. Get some boric acid and make an eyewash
follow solution directions then rinse your eye with it (use a shot glass or something that size) several times a day.

It'll help with the irritation but you really just have to be patient and wait for it to go away.

6. DEL Pharmaceuticals
makes a soothing ointment that also speeds healing. It's an OTC product, available in any drugstore.

8. Get a green tea bag
Soak it like you're making tea. When it's hot (but not REAL hot) place it on the sty. That's what we do here (and I get two or three stys a year -- probably due to my pretty eyelashes) -- I think the tannic acid helps, but I don't know. It works, anyhow.
John
It is now eight days, 21 hours and 48 minutes to FUNDAY. We'll keep some green tea bags handy.

9. As a longtime suffer of styes...
All you can do is an eyewash and the moist, damp cloth thing at least three times a day and wait for it to come to a head. Do NOT try to "pop" it like you do a zit -- in fact, don't fiddle with it to rush the process at all. I did when I was a little girl and lost a few eyelash follicles in the process.

Keep your hands clean and out of your yese until it is time to do use the wash cloth. Keep the cloth warm as possible and keep the towel on your eye for at least 5-10 minutes (reheat the cloth if necessary). Do this three times a day and it should come to a head in a four or so days.

Styes suck. :(

11. lukewarm
black tea bag will drain the infection and eventually cause the irritating piece of effluvia to surface.

Not too hot though. The tannic acid helps tremendously.

My sis is an OD and recommends this method.
