Ok, so what the hell's wrong with Tom Cruise. |
|
I mean, y'know, if the guy's really happy, good for him. I'm happy too. But he's acting so over the top, right? http://www.ew.com/ew/report/0,6115,1069956-3-5_1||233612|1_,00.html

I just don't get it. What was the deal with Kidman? Cruz?
I just don't get it.
My best friend's husband supposedly went to high school with Tom Cruise. He (my friend's hubby) says all he remembers was a strange kid who had crutches for a while (broken leg I think), they invited him to Great Adventure once, he went, but was kind of a dork.

8. TROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

CRUISE SCIENTOLOGY SUPPORTER - HER DEATH IS IN YOUR HANDS, LEBOWSKI - HER DEATH IS IN YOUR HANDS!!!
:sarcasm:
I don't think there's anything wrong with the guy, if he were Catholic or Jewish I wouldn't call him out on it, I wouldn't care. If he were a Catholic of Jewish descent I still wouldn't care, I don't even know if that's possible, yet I still don't care.
Tom Cruise is Tom Cruise, he acts for a living, and makes a lot of dollars for doing so. Since we're all liberals that promote freedom of religion, there's absolutely nothing of interest we find in his decision as a human being to support Scientology. Right? I mean, we're not the GOP, the party of White Christians. We do support differing views. I know we do.

So many celebrities are jerks. Tom Cruise seems like such a great guy.
Who cares if he's confused about religion? A lot of people are. I used to be myself.

Over the top totally. Gimme a break.
And who says "they've never felt this way before" about someone, publicly, for all the world to hear, including his EX-WIFE and recent ex-girlfriend?
I mean come on.

Cruise has a right to love someone in whatever way he sees fit .... AND to practice whatever 'faith' he sees fit ...
Freedom is wonderful, dontcha think ? ...
Sheeeesh ... He is a human being, and acts like one ...

He's OK when the rest of the world also shares that love, but when it becomes apparent that we are tiring of him, he must resort to more and more desperate measures to get us to notice him.

and I didn't see the Oprah show, I just saw still pictures of the show on the Internet.
You feel embarrassed for someone who is making an ass of themselves and you want to say, "Stop it. Settle down and behave yourself".
My guess is that most mega celebrities don't have anyone around them that will tell them they are an ass and so they see nothing wrong with their behavior.

Other than the soft pro-war statement he made a couple years back I don't really hold anything against him.
Scientology? I don't really know anything about it; maybe it's weird but, then again, so are plenty of other religions that much larger groups of people follow. As long as they aren't trying to force me to believe it I don't care.
And about the whole "he's actually gay" thing, well, I've seen no real proof of this so I think it's kind of silly to speculate about it. I don't see understand why Katie Holmes, in the prime of her dating years, would choose to date an older gay man who isn't actually interested in her. But if there is any proof of his homosexuality, excuse me for brushing off this stuff as unsubstantiated rumor. But it does seem kinda odd to me the amount of "I don't like Tom Cruise= he must be gay" that seems to be going on on a liberal political discussion board!
I guess I just don't have an active dislike for this guy like the majority of DUers seem to. He just seems like an average actor with some of the typical Hollywood weirdness; nothing to make me really dislike him for any reason.

There was a story last week in US Weekly -- not exactly a bastion of journalism, but not a total joke on topics like this -- claiming that his people wanted Jessica Alba or Lindsey Lohan as their first choice, but later settled on Holmes.
