4. I'm feeling pretty calm about it. I'm not trying to stir shit, only ideas.
God to me is an endlessly subjective idea, formless and mysterious, ineffable and vague.

2. This thing messed up my poll
I had a much lengthier bit about feminine and masculine, but it got eaten by the server. I spoke of strength, endurance, patience, love and understanding as particularly feminine traits of God.

3. Other
The existence of God can only be proven by polls. ;-)

8. God is everything
All that is. Any attempt to explain God runs into a major problem. We don't have to capacity to 'know' the unknowable.

9. AAAAAAAAAAGH!!!

It ATE my option for Robert Anton Wilson!!!!!! Noooooo! Keph would have approved.

Wilson said of Christians that they "Believe that God is a huge, gaseous invertebrate who has nothing better to do than spend eternity torturing people who don't believe in its religion."

DAYYAM! That was supposed to be my favorite option on this poll, and it's gone! This poll is now fatally flawed, and can no longer conclusively prove anything beyond the rather obvious fact that Hardhead cannot be trusted to create a simple poll.

12. I think
it was Sagan, in his book 'Contact,' that said something to the effect that not giving us a clear, incontrovertible sign (like a crucifix in orbit) was a "damn sloppy way to run a universe."

10. Mankind must surely
have the silliest theology in the universe to believe god has nothing better to do than get them out of tight spots.

13. Oh, that reminds me
of one of my BIGGEST pet peeves. Big disaster, hundreds die, and one of the survivors is heard to murmur "I don't know how I survived. God must have heard my prayers."

:wtf:

And basically crapped all over everybody else? What kind of screwed up reasoning is THAT?

23. I agree plus
when a ball player thanks God for the win. Like, whether or not their is a God, if he does exist, would he really care who wins a ball game? I also get furious when Pat Robertson or Jerry Falwell and those types say the reason a tornado hit Florida was the wrath of God for allowing Gay Day at Disney. That has always made me want to throw something at the television.

22. Actually, I thought his primary concern was who is screwing who
and under what circumstances.

Apparently, the human race is like one big issue of The National Enquirer, to him.

14. Last option down the list.
GOD is not out there to solve all of our problems nor is he going to get us out of them, we are all just like him. The real "GOD" as established in christianity is compassionate for all living things, and expects that those who follow in his footsteps will "exceed" that one day or prevent our own apocalypse.

Those who have twisted GOD's message are not of god, nor are they spreading his message. Now it is creating the most extremist, backwards based doctrine ever seen and is derived from nothing but satan. We got ourselves into this situation, but through the ignoring of compassion, by going to sleep, have we been "punished" that is all of us have by allowing this to take PLACE.

The false cronyism claiming to be for GOD and establishing world order must fall, and it must be completely toppled by us, because GOD is not getting anyone out of that mess. It also sent a clear message during the tsunami of which all should understand.

15. If you untie your navel, you might die
and even if you don't, you're not going to learn anything.

Howzabout a REAL poll, with questions like 1) it definitely exists 2) it definitely doesn't exist 3) it doesn't seem plausible, but without proof I'm abstaining 4) I sorta think there is one, but there's still no proof 5) why the fuck do we waste time on things that can't be resolved? 6) so fucking what either way?

18. I originally had options like 5 & 6, but thought them weak
I'm not about to do a scientific poll on something as subjective as god.

Man, they moved this to the Lounge? This was not intended as Lounge material. I was looking for *cough* somewhat more thoughtful responses than the usual Lounge wavelength. :D And I missed out on the flame. *sigh*

17. What was anti-Christian about this poll?
Um... a lack of a mention of Christianity does not, in and of itself, indicate anti-Christianty.

Just thought I'd make that distinction.
