My kids took home some awards last night (NJROTC awards dinner)

Tim took home this award:

Military Officers Association of America
The cadet must have a desire to serve his or her country; and must be in the upper 25% of his or her academic and JROTC classes

And Lucas took home this one:

DAEDALIAN JROTC ACHIEVEMENT AWARD:
Presented annually to outstanding cadets at participating high schools. (First awarded in 1978.)

JROTC was some of the best times in my life!

2. What branch did you have at your school?

We have a very young unit (just 10 years old) at my son's school, but they are always best-ing themselves. Every year it seems they can't get any better--and they do.

This year they were top unit in the Northeast/Europe region, and #4 in the country. (I think among NAVY units, anyway.)

The drill team and color guard brought home their 3rd National title in 4 years.

But then again this was over 10 years ago... I hit myself in the head with the rifle one too many times... :)
