What are Feelings and Why do they Get Hurt?

Where do they come from and where do they go?
What do you do when they get hurt? Do you howl
and get mean? do you hide and eat ice cream?
or do you do something in between? Feelings are
funny things.

As another example, if you go out of your way to try to make someone like you and pay attention to you, and they don't call you, then your feelings will be hurt because you're a big baby. That isn't entirely true or maybe even mostly true. I have struggled with my feelings though since early childhood. I tried to let my logic and reasoning dominate my mind and my actions, but the feelings always remainded. I appeared to some as though I had Aspberger's but the truth was that I had an overly developed sense of empathy. I hated it when my feelings told me one thing while my mind told me another. I made made that statement that I written on the subject line several times.
Feelings are confusing and difficult, but really they are what makes us really feel alive.
