OH LOL! BE SCARED so you WILL re-up the Patriot Act! |
|
Heh. I had posted here early today about how coincidentally strange the timing of the "terror" arrests and the timing of Bush's push to renew the Patriot Act were, and... ....lo and behold.... The Los Angeles Times reports that the Federal Bureau of Invesigation apparently gave the media a different, far more damaging version of an affidavit against a Lodi, California father and son charged with lying to federal officials than the one that was finally given to a court in Sacramento Thursday.
The affidavit filed Thursday did not contain any of the sensation material from earlier in the week which said the son's "potential terrorist targets included hospitals and groceries, and contained names of key individuals and statements about the international origins of 'hundreds' of participants in alleged Al Qaeda terrorist training camps in Pakistan."http://www.csmonitor.com/2005/0610/dailyUpdate.htmlIsn't that a HOOT!

5. Remember, if police can use violent force against.... |
|
non violent civilians, then the Feds can send you off to GITMO(Dachau) and you will never be heard of again. I believe now that America can become an Autocratic State.

6. LOL...hell it has been one for years! |
|
Here is how they could get me. They will read my stuff here. Next they determine my posts to be subversive, a national threat. They make an appointment to convince the secret court they have set up that they have a reasonable suspicion I may be a national security risk. The court issues a secret search warrant. Next, they conduct a secret search of my place, unknown to me.
If they find nothing, I will never know they have even searched my place. If they find something on their witch hunt, they will clap me in cuffs. My relatives will not be notified. (In fact in some of these cases, people have been reported to cops as missing before relatives found out they were in custody.)
Every step of this is totally legal in this country at present, and has been legal here for 40 years. The only real change is that the standard of proof for the issuance of the warrant was lowered following 9/11. The rest dates back to the Cold War.
There were, last I saw, 1,200 people detained under this system, though not all aspects of it were utilized in their detention.
LOL...land of the free!

2. Be sure to read to the end...ROFL... |
|
The Los Angeles Times reports that in a speech yesterday asking for the Patriot Act to be made permanent, President Bush said that since the 9/11 terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, "federal terrorism investigations have resulted in charges against more than 400 suspects, and more than half of those charged have been convicted."
But the American Civil Liberties Union challenged Mr. Bush's numbers, citing a study done by Syracuse University that showed the "vast majority" of the 400 cases were for minor, non-terrorism offenses." Lisa Graves, an ACLU senior counsel, said the study showed that most of those arrested "posed such little threat to national security that most served no jail time."

14. history...history...history |
|
A few months ago my son went into his history class and kept saying "history....history...history" It drove his teacher mad, coming from a boy who is bright and usually not very loud. So she asked him what the 'hell' he was doing! He told her that history repeats itself and we have to learn from the past so we don't make the same mistakes. She asked him why he would say that. He told her that I had taught him all about the Nazis, how they got so much power and then he repeated this quote...."Naturally, the people don't want war, but they can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. Tell them they are attacked, and denounce the pacifists for a lack of patriotism and endangering the country. It works the same in every country, everytime!"(by Herman Goering, Hitler's Reichmarschall at the Nuremberg Trials) I live close to where these people have been arrested in the last few days and declared terroists by our government even though they have not been charged as such. The father is a simple ice cream man. They wanted to open an islamic school. This was all the government really had. I don't believe for a second that this outrageous nationwide press coverage which keeps refering to the people as terroists is anything more than a scare tactic and I totally agree with you. Why is it so hard for the mainstream people and press to get it right? Is there something in their water? Has there been mass brain washing? I am sick to my stomach over what our country has become since Bush took the White House. Where are the level headed and strong minded Americans who could make the world a better place? Thank you for bringing this message out. I wish more of us could and would speak up! I want to leave you with this one last quote. "Our Lives Begin To End The Day We Become Silent About The Things That Matter!" (Martin Luther King Jr.)
