6. I tried this a number of different ways, always standing (waaaay) back.
I've found the speed of the train has something to do with the resting place of the final product.

Trains moving at 10MPH or less leave the flattened coin within a foot of initial placement.

Trains at 25MPH tend to leave the flattened coin within three feet of the initial placement.

I've got to try this on an Alcea. . . . . .

And just because you've never seen a coin squirt out, I assure you it happens and can really hurt you.
