I Bought A Cheap-O Classical Guitar!

Takamine G116. $200. I haven't had a classical guitar around to bang on for years and I was starting to lose my mind. About the best thing I can say about it that it is not a piece of junk! I just need a compensated bridge to keep that G string from going too sharp when I move up the neck.

STRUM, STRUM, STRUM, PICK, PICK PICK!

7. Thanks
I think it is worth the price. I'm getting good sustain when I hit harmonics.

9. Ha ha!
Whatever the hell the factory put on it. ;)

I'm still waiting for the strings to stop stretching (or the neck stop adjusting to the new pressure?). . . . constant tuning.

But I haven't played in so long I'm going slow - - - trying to keep from getting a blister on my thumb, not to mention my now soft, baby like fingertips.

11. I know that feeling
I've not playe din forever.

Hey, you may know this trick.... but grab all your strings in a bunch and bounce the guitar by them.... gets rid of the stretching early.

13. They put one dot now . . .
. . . on the top of the neck at the seventh fret, as a reference point.

The last time I checked, there were either no dots, or several.

I've been out of the loop.

14. Oh, Floogeldy! A classical guitar....
Classical guitar is probably my most favorite type of music...I just love it. I have a 2 CD set of 33 classical guitar pieces, and if it's possible to wear CD's out, I will wear this one out. It is MAGNIFICENT!

Good for you...I wish I could hear you play...
