Are you an American Idiot? |
|
I'm not even remotely an American, so I have to ask you. When you hear Green Day's "American Idiot", what do you interpret that to mean? What IS an American idiot, to YOU?
Is it .. "I don't want to be an idiot, and by the way, I'm American."
or
Is it .. "Good God, Americans are idiots. I don't want to be an American Idiot."
or
"Nevermind, all Americans are idiots, and that's what this song is about."
or
"Purple people eater, burp!"

Nearly identical ? ... BOTH state that americans are universally idiotic ...
I am american ... amd I an idiot too ? ..
This is a variation of the bifurcation fallacy : the choices are incomplete ...
Try this: 'a segment of the american public are idiots, and I dont want to be one of them' .....
