Anyone else in the Memphis area see that beautiful sky?
There is a big, thick band of rain about to hit us. As the sun was setting, the sky was such a brilliant orange with the setting sunlight hitting the rolling clouds. To top it off, there was a huge double rainbow making a half circle across the blazing orange sky. It was truly the most beautiful sky I have ever seen.

1. No picture??????
It sounds grand! We could use some tranquility now and then.

2. I'll post pics
I had some trouble last time I attempted pics, so I'm going to have my husband help me out in a minute. He's busy with a computer crisis of his own. The pictures I took do it absolutely no justice, though. I was sitting in the living room and the strangest orange glow was coming through the window, and when I looked out everything looked day glo. As soon as I stepped outside that blazing sky with the complete rainbow took my breath away. I can't stop chattering about it, as you can see :) People were coming out everywhere and staring at the sky in awe.

3. I can relate to that!
I've just got a taste of being able to post pictures using photobucket... I have a digital camera but have not taken the time to load them into my computer photo album. I have to learn it first!!! So thats the delay.

Saw that once in Alexandria VA about three years ago. Late in the afternoon, but not at sunset. People were coming out of their houses and looking at a double rainbow. Trouble is, rainbows are huge. They cannot be captured by ordinary cameras. You have to see them in person. The image will not do them justice.

5. It actually showed up a lot better than I thought. it would
and from a cameraphone, to boot! I think it was because it was such a bright, vivid rainbow.

But I love summers/early fall in the midsouth.

The heat doesn't bother me too much, and the ability to get drenched at a moment's notice is a nice one. This is actually improved significantly if you live out in a rural area. As a kid (and with my nieces now) I found crawfish in the creek, or just explored them to see where they went :)

Just now I got soaked walking outside, and although didn't do it intentionally, managed to soak my sandals. Gave me warm flashbacks :)
