4. Droopy, I'm going to have to talk some sense into you.
Even though you live in Ohio, you are still close to Steeler territory. You know you love them, don't you?

Well, we'll see you during football season. One game in Cinci, one game in the Burgh. It'll be fun!

7. I agree...
As a LONG time Bengals fan, the Steelers will be sorry if Big Ben turns out that last year was a lucky year like the 13-3 Bears a few years back.

The Bengals are Wild Card bound this season.

Ratbirds
Felons

13. hey---at least you got a team back
When they shipped the Colts out of Baltimore 20+ yrs ago, they left us without a team.

16. I remember seeing an article on Jim Irsay a few years ago.
The Colts, quite literally, did an overnight move to Indy. To this day, that man gets death threats.

18. very true
I was real little when that happened, but my father was devestated. My mother said he really went into a funk for weeks. He had boxes and boxes of decades of Colts memorabilia.
When Baltimore had a Canadian Football League team, I used to go to Baltimore "Colts" aka "CFLs" games up at the old Memorial Stadium (where the orioles played before Camden Yards was built downtown) with him in the early 90s. He was just glad Baltimore had a team

Now I know the Art modell deal must have pissed off Cleveland fans, but it was nowhere near as sneaky as what was done to Baltimore, and you got a new team relativly quickly

Unfortunately my father died before the Ravens won the Superbowl.

19. man, Baltimore got screwed far worse than that
when the Colts were shipped to Indianapolis with virtually no warning. One day we had an NFL team and the next we didn't. I don't remember it, because I was a little kid at the time, but my father, who grew up in Baltimore, was bitter about it for the rest of his life.

Cleveland got a new team rather quickly.

22. That doesn't make it cool though
Cleveland was a lot more loyal than Baltimore was to it's Colts. The city was going to give him everything he asked for but he just stabbed everyone in the back. The city of Baltimore refused to give the Colts a new stadium and the owner said "Fuck it" and left. Now that doesn't make what the Colts owner did right and in fact the league should've stepped in and said that you go back to Baltimore now. If at the very least they should've allowed the city to keep the nickname Colts and forced the Indy team have a different nickname.

28. by that, I meant the Steelers of course
Edited on Sun Jun-12-05 01:11 AM by leftofthedial
sort of a friend from college played for the Steelers back in the 70s and 80s. I don't know why--I'm not from Pittsburgh, only been there a couple of times--but I always liked the Steelers, even as a little kid.

Now, these Coloradans have me rooting for the Donkeys.

A ratio that is maybe a three trillion to one underdog by internet poll standards. Normally it's bigtime the other way, anonymous votes over responses. TIA should run Excel and prove this thread is impossible.

Not like it's a sport or anything. Take some steroids, put on 200 pounds and you too can play professional football.

Totally boring, nontalented sport. For genetic freaks only.
